In the decades prior to the Revolutionary War, tensions arose between the two largest global powers: BRITAIN, led by King George II, and FRANCE, led by King Louis XV.
Because of their alliances with other nations, fighting escalated into the first global war - the Seven Years War, or as it was called in America, the French and Indian War.
The conflict included every major power in Europe as well as their colonies from the Caribbean, to India, to the Philippines, and to Africa.
Over a million died.

My pastor says, “If you are on assignment for GOD, He will preserve you like a pickle.”
My 6th great grandfather was killed during this time, Sept 8, 1755...
He was a member of the Provincial Army...they dressed in buckskins...Leatherstocking like...They refused to wear the red uniform of the British army regulars because it could be seen easily through the trees...the song Yankee Doodle Dandy was written about them..
he died at the Battle of Blood Pond, Lake George, New York...There were 3 battles there that day...Bloody Pond was the last one..
a big rock with a plaque with his name on it is at the edge of the lake ....
Captain Timothy McGinnis...AKA Teady McGinn...
My stomach was opened up by a bayonet and my right kidney was destroyed. Yet I was able to stab my attacker in the throat and got to watch him die.
Most gratifying.
Anyone who thinks our Founding wasn’t divinely inspired need look only at this and the miraculous fog that suddenly covered the Americans’ retreat from Long Island.
For the colonials along the frontier the experience might well parallel what we all might come to face in this war on terror or, rather, Islamist jihad.
True. Absolutely true.
And I've heard it said that if God's in it, it cannot fail, if He isn't, it will not endure. He was definitely in it during the Revolution.
Louis Grizzard: “My grandfather, general Beoregard Grizzard fought in the battle of Gettysburg. He had two horse and one nurse shot out from under him.”

I believe GEORGE WASHINGTON’S vision actually happened.

Both sides of my family fought in the Revolutionary War. My husband’s ancestors fought in the French & Indian War.
The cause of freedom flows through our veins, doesn’t it.
There were many more miracles than that.
Not only was this country basically created by God, George Washington is also nostly proven as perhaps the greatest man ever on Earth, if only because obviously God wanted it so.
The infamous confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest had 30 horses shot from beneath him during his participation in the Civil War . His claim he had killed 31 Union solders in battle so in the end he was one ahead .

My 4th great grandfather was one of the few survivors of St. Clair's defeat on Nov. 4th 1791. He suffered a musket ball through his left wrist.
If your appointed time is not up you are invincible.

I’ve been thinking that same thing.
But how stupid are we?
The Indians were already here when our Colonial ancestors arrived, but our brilliant politicians in both parties have been bringing in Muslims by the thousand so that the death and destruction that they bring belong to the Bushes and Obamas.
Fifteen years after the Battle of Monongahela, George Washington and Dr. Craik, a close friend of his from his youth, were traveling through those same woods near the Ohio river and Great Kanawha river.
They were met by an old Indian chief, who addressed Washington through an interpreter:
"I am a chief and ruler over my tribes. My influence extends to the waters of the great lakes and to the far blue mountains.
I have traveled a long and weary path that I might see the young warrior of the great battle.
It was on the day when the white man's blood mixed with the streams of our forests that I first beheld this Chief.
I called to my young men and said, mark yon tall and daring warrior? He is not of the red-coat tribe-he hath an Indian's wisdom, and his warriors fight as we do-himself alone exposed.
Quick, let your aim be certain, and he dies. Our rifles were leveled, rifles which, but for you, knew not how to miss-`twas all in vain, a power mightier far than we, shielded you.
Seeing you were under the special guardianship of the Great Spirit, we immediately ceased to fire at you.
I am old and soon shall be gathered to the great council fire of my fathers in the land of shades, but ere I go, there is something bids me speak in the voice of prophecy:
Listen! The Great Spirit protects that man and guides his destinies - he will become the chief of nations, and a people yet unborn will hail him as the founder of a mighty empire.
I am come to pay homage to the man who is the particular favorite of Heaven, and who can never die in battle."
An Indian warrior later declared:
"Washington was never born to be killed by a bullet! I had seventeen fair fires at him with my rifle and after all could not bring him to the ground!"

...
Didn’t Washington have a losing battle record. I think he won the war because of his ability to live to fight another day.
I had four bullets through my coat, and two horses shot under me, yet escaped unhurt...
...
IIRC, his Indian opponents in that battle later treated him as a mythical figure.
Providence is more than just a town in Rhode Island.
