FRANKLIN, Ohio An officer in Ohio went above and beyond after finding a 7-year-old boy wandering alone, trying to sell his teddy bear for food, WLWT reports.
Officer Steve Dunham saw the boy wandering around a busy area in downtown Franklin all by himself.
It broke my heart. He told me he was trying to sell his stuffed animal to get money for food because he hadnt eaten in several days, Dunham told WLWT.
Dunham bought the child some food from Subway and took him to the Franklin police Department.

How sad.
This is 0bama and the democrat’s America.
Americans need to open their eyes to 0bama and the democrat’s failures.

“0bama’s America in full bloom.”
Lost of questions here. Need more info.
I saw many posts of this story on many different websites. Not one of them mentioned what race the parents were. I found that very interesting.
when Trump is Pres., this will be a headline
I was thinking of pinging you on this yesterday when someone else put it up.
I’m not sure about the adoption process, but whoever adopts is going to need a LOT of room in their homes and lives.
Can’t break these kids apart.
2010 census shows 96% of the population as White and less than 1% African American - drugs/alcohol and/or mental illness play a huge role in this story I am betting.
I would he bought the bear, then bought him a meal, then helped him find a place to stay, then given the bear back to him.
I agree. Just the fact that the couple is married makes African American very unlikely.
Ah, trailer park white trash. Got it. I really feel for their little boys. I hope they are placed in homes where they will be loved to little pieces.
White. Trash obviously.
This is right up the road from me, so I knew the demographics without looking at pictures. The race is irrelevant.
Precisely. There is absolutely no legitimate reason a child goes hungry in the US.
The illegitimate reasons are many however.....parents spending freebies on gambling, drugs/alcohol, cellphones, big screen tv’s etc. or simply absent.
There’s food rotting in Government warehouses. Bought from farmers under various subsidy programs. The problem has never been food.
And the kids whacked out mother says she takes good care of her kids. Anyone read how the house looked/smelled?
From the picture, there was boxed food and fresh food in the house however, we don’t know if the refrigerated food was edible or not. There were older siblings, so why didn’t they fix a meal? I taught mine basic life skills at very early ages - kitchen knife skills at age 3 (oh, the horrors!), use the stove as soon as they were tall enough to see into pans and were choosing ripe unblemished produce at the store when still sitting in the buggy.
That’s another failure of the welfare program. We should have caseworkers make home visits to teach parents and kids alike how to shop, store and prepare food and basic how/why of housekeeping. Being “dirt” poor doesn’t mean you have to live in filth. Sure, extra caseworkers mean more tax dollars but it is less than what we currently spend when children have to be removed and placed in state care. FYI, I was a CPS worker.
Isn’t that pretty much the mission of head start? My mom has been a head start home visitor for 26 years-parent and child education. Nutrition and life skills are part of that education.
