For roughly 40 years, Scott Wallace has bought tickets and sat in the stands at Gopher football games.
But on Saturday, the University of Minnesota graduate walked onto the field of TCF Bank Stadium because of the most important ticket of his life.
"I call it my ticket to the Titanic," said Wallace. That ticket is the visitor's pass to the World Trade Center's North Tower, which was given to Wallace on a business trip on Sept. 11, 2001.
Wallace was on the 63rd floor when the first plane struck. He was one of three Minnesota graduates honored before the second quarter of Saturday's game against Indiana State.
"It was overwhelming," Wallace said, who choked back tears after he tipped his cap to the crowd and then gave his family a hug while walking back into the tunnel.
The University also honored graduates who died on 9/11, including Tom Burnett Jr., who died on Flight 93.
Burnett's family was also on the field, and Wallace says that's why attends ceremonies on the anniversary of the attacks.
"I do these things so people remember 9/11 and all of the people who were lost," Wallace said.

Hardly in the same league but I have an observation deck ticket to the WTC which I saved when I went up it in 1976.
A dear friend gave me a ticket to today’s game, so, I was blessed to witness the ceremony.
I am surprised that the University of Minnesota would do this.
They’ve always been good to the Alumni.
We never see interviews of actual survivors of 9/11.

Surprised at this recognition at the liberal U of MN and especially that the large Somali population in Minneapolis would be likely offended
