An employee of an eastside restaurant was arrested over the weekend after he reportedly stole a Donald Trump campaign sign from a neighboring property because he felt the sign “reflected poorly on the business,” according to an Athens-Clarke County police report.
Robert Young Hagwood, identified in the report as a 44-year old server employed by Mama’s Boy, was already warned by the sign’s owner, Warren Blackmon, that the sign was posted on property that Blackmon owned adjacent to the restaurant.
Blackmon wanted to press charges after he said several other Trump for President signs went missing from the fence over the previous week, according to the police report.
Hagwood, who was charged Saturday with misdemeanor theft by taking, did not respond to a telephone message seeking comment.
Blackmon said in an interview this week that Hagwood took the sign in an attempt to squelch his right to free speech.
“I guess some people just don’t like Trump, but I have a right to fly what I want to on my property,” the 68-year-old retired businessman said.
“I’m an independent and I’m doing to support the person who I feel will do the best possible job,” Blackmon said. “If I thought Hillary would do a better job I’d have a Hillary for president sign on the fence.”

Here in my neck of the woods in northeastern Ohio, I haven’t seen signs for Trump nor Hitlery hardly anywhere.
Mama's boy sounds fitting. Lock him up until after the election.
Hope they set a zero tolerance example: Convict and jail.
Thank him for once again getting Trumps name in the news and probably getting him more votes when people see how thugs don’t like him.
Signs (and bumper stickers) are no measure of popular support BUT I too have seen fewer of both for either candidate this election cycle than an I can remember.

Lefties ALWAYS have an excuse for their criminal behavior. And the really sad thing is that other lefties accept these excuses as perfectly reasonable.
Side note: The restaurant employee here made a tactical error. He should have added that the Trump sign was a "microaggression" that violated his "safe space". Gotta get all those buzz words in there somewhere.

That's because for them it's business-as-usual, routine, and always a matter of Entitlement after always having played the role of some kind of the Victim.
When I saw the headline, I assumed Athens, Georgia. I knew of the one in Ohio, because it was featured prominently in a Flash comic book that introduced “Earth Prime”. We have a large university with plenty of lefties in Athens, Georgia, which is why I thought the story might have been taken place there.

Well, on the one hand, nobody likes Hillary, and on the other hand, Trump supporters know if they put them up they will just be stolen/defaced.
I believe the talking will be done in the voting booth.
Really? I'm in Lake County and really don't see any, or hardly any. I think that some of us Trumpsters would rather not deal with the Hillaribots roaming around at night.
