Chapman University recently completed its third annual Chapman University Survey of American Fears (2016). The survey asked respondents about 65 fears across a broad range of categories including fears about the government, crime, the environment, the future, technology, health, natural disasters, as well as fears of public speaking, spiders, heights, ghosts and many other personal anxieties.
The 2016 survey shows that the top 10 things Americans fear the most are:
1) Corruption of government officials (same top fear as 2015)
2) Terrorist attacks
3) Not having enough money for the future
4) Being a victim of terror
5) Government restrictions on firearms and ammunition (new)
6) People I love dying
7) Economic or financial collapse
8) Identity theft
9) People I love becoming seriously ill
10) The Affordable Health Care Act/"Obamacare"

I see tyranny did not make the list
One or more of these three things depending on the person.
Fearing the wrath of God if not doing your best to be good.
Fearing a lack of employment.
The fear of no welfare or government handouts or overpaid employment.
No Marmite....no wait, that’s Brits.
1.) losing their 401Ks
2.) losing their jobs
3.) increasing taxes
3.) losing their government freebies

I ain’t afraid of no ghost.
Some of the aforementioned gets my attention.
Well, in my neighborhood folks are trying to outdo each other with the Halloween decorations they pit up, and the scariest decoration I have seen so far is a Clinton/Kaine sign.
House at the other end of my street has a Hillary sign in the front yard.
Right in front of a giant inflatable witch.
Nothing.
We have guns...
