An interesting look at the cycle of recession and job growth within the United States. (It's scary when 2008 hits.)
Animated Map of Unemployment in America From 1990 - 2016
Interesting, but after 2009 the “improvement” was due to ignoring those who quit seeking employment.
I would rather see percent of employment shown.
Just use the u6 instead instead of the u3
North Dakota was fairly light except for the two Indian reservations. Northern Maine was dark the entire period as the paper mills continued to close.
Based on completely biased dept of labor statistics.
BINGO!
Anyone interested in the truth should go to Shadowstats.com to understand how labor department reporting has become dishonest and unreliable.
The US gov’t started lying about unemployment (U6 measurement, ie: not counting those not participating in the work force and no longer “looking” for work) as far back as 1986.
They started lying about true inflation rate (CPI) around then too.
The real unemployment rate is: 22+%
Inflation rate is: 7+%
RE: “Just use the u6 instead instead of the u3”
Right. People allowed to claim “disability” under Obamao went up, taking them off unemp roles — making 2008 on, appear improving....
Next time, he should show only 40 hour work weeks and not part time jobs.
You mean a dept of the federal gubmint is corrupted? Say it ain’t so. /s
Go Nebraska
That statistic is based on those on unemployment. There are millions who are not on unemployment and can not find work.
The map is bogus and a waste of time.
very enlightening.
