I agree with Jim. People who post vanities should pony up.
I like you. You throw out a thread that breaks the stress of the election. :)
Jailhouse Rock was a great movie.
I was in high school back in mid 50’s when he came to Norfolk. My girl friend told me I had to take her to see him. My dad got us tickets. I told girl he was no good. Show began and I was rocking with everyone else in the house. Afterward, she had to have her photo taken with Elvis. Cost me ten dollars. But I became a fan that afternoon.
That’s weird, was just thinking about him.
What would you like to know about me...
One of my all time favorites even though I was just a kid when he died.
Amazing voice and a true American success story.
The first album I bought was a collection called The Memphis Record, which was a session of recordings from the late sixties that included Kentucky Rain, Who Am I?, The Fair is Moving On, Suspicious Minds, Stranger in My Hometown, In the Ghetto and many others. I was hooked and remain so.
Elvis was great, America was great - the best decades to be a young American from 1956 to 1976. Too soon, we lost Elvis and our sense of joy.
He didn’t shirk going into the Army.
my dad met him once, i believe in Nashville at a Gospel Music convention. got his autograph on some kind of newspaper for the industry.
As an aside,I was driving through Memphis a few years back and was in no big hurry so I decided to visit Graceland.I was struck by the fact that the furnishings and decorations I saw appeared to be,at the same time, expensive *and* things that a poor white southern boy would buy.
Just sayin'....I was brought up in the suburbs of the Northeast by served with a number of southerners so I know that things weren't great for a lot of kids growing up there in the '40s/'50s/'60s.Including white kids.
We’ve been talking about Trump, the King. What took you so long?
I live 10 miles from Graceand. Never been inside
My ex thinks Elvis is still alive. She says his middle name on the tombstone is misspelled, his Lloyds of London insurance policy still has not been cashed in, and a case with his favorite sunglasses is missing.
Elvis would have been a Trump guy. I just know it!
Elvis gave a concert which raised a lot of money to help build the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor.
I grew up having a negative view of him as a person because of his celebrity life and addiction etc
I didn’t really appreciate his music or know much about him until a road trip in ‘97 took me thru TN and I went to Graceland.
I don’t know what compelled me to stop at Graceland, but it was really good to get much more knowledge of his generosity and kindness to so many people. I became a fan then :)
Did you send in a contribution for this useless vanity?
