Calexit: Leftists File Papers to Secede, Form New Confederacy(bye felicia)

A group of left-wing Californians, frustrated with the recent election of Donald J. Trump as the 45th President of the United States, has filed an application to put a secession referendum — “Calexit” — on the 2018 ballot.

The East Bay Times reports that the group, called Yes California, intends to circumvent the U.S. Congress:

A “yes” vote would trigger a special election the following March in which residents would decide if “California should become a free, sovereign and independent country.”

Another “yes” vote would require the governor of the newly minted “Republic of California” to apply to the United Nations for membership.

They would wind up invaded and defeated by Mexico in under 50 years.

Uh... mission accomplished, amigo.

Bingo!

The “Aztlan Movement” keeps advancing.

In their own words:

“In the spirit of a new people that is conscious not only of its proud historical heritage but also of the brutal gringo invasion of our territories, we, the Chicano inhabitants and civilizers of the northern land of Aztlan from whence came our forefathers, reclaiming the land of their birth and consecrating the determination of our people of the sun, declare that the call of our blood is our power, our responsibility, and our inevitable destiny. … Aztlan belongs to those who plant the seeds, water the fields, and gather the crops and not to the foreign Europeans. … We are a bronze people with a bronze culture. Before the world, before all of North America, before all our brothers in the bronze continent, we are a nation, we are a union of free pueblos, we are Aztlan. For La Raza todo. Fuera de La Raza nada.”

The motto, “Fuera de la Raza nada.” tells it all. It says: “For The Race everything. Outside The Race, nothing.”

The above is from an article from Human Events in 2006.

“My deepest sympathies to our conservative FRiends in CA”

That is exactly the problem. I doubt that they would allow Free Republic to continue.

Go ahead. Secede! The central valley and East California would never come with you. The State of Jefferson would be real and I would finally keep my guns.

While this sounds appealing does anyone really think losing direct access to the Pacific , the main naval facility on the Pacific, direct connection with Alaska and Hawaii ( because Oregon and Washington state would be invited to follow suit), losing the tech base for the digital economy, losing the net 22 cent per tax dollar gain as Cal gets 78 cents in return for every federal tax dollar collected, that losing these is somehow worth it because we don’t like Cal. Progressives.

Total joke. CA can’t even balance their own budget now. They’re in debt out the wazoo with frequent power and water shortages. What makes them think they can provide major social programs like social security, national defense, and healthcare.

These people are absolute idiots.

The left wingers wanting a new state, called COW, (Californiacator, Oregone, Washingtonless) might get a real surprise:

For a long time/decades, over taxed/under represented Oregonians and Californians in the state line counties have been trying to form a new state called the State of Jefferson. The discussions basically stopped after Pearl Harbor.

However, in recent years, after decades of these counties getting raped by taxation and legislation from the California legislature/liberal governors and the same in Oregone. More and more people are serious about secession from Californicator land and Oregone.

The new state of Jefferson might include the big valley area of California from the north end to the first liberal county by LA. This would include the food basket that raises food not only for California, but for the nation. This would include the water that helps raise the food and provides a lot of the water/electrical power for North Mexico aka the LA area.

The new state of Jefferson might also include the eastern counties of Washintonless and Oregone. This area is another great farming/ranching area rich with timber and mineral resources.

The link below shows the original purposed state of Jefferson and some other plans:

the problem with California is that it's filled with Californians. Perhaps we need to reinstitute prima-noctum. If conservatives can't get them out other ways, we'll breed them out. We have "more" to offer the women anyway. Much more masculine than the liberal girly men.

I’m as frustrated as anyone with our largest and most valuable State falling into the twin (related) abysses of Mexican reconquista and Socialist political dominance. The idea of secession gets sticky when one considers just how valuable that real estate is to the rest of the Republic and how many military and other assets, not to mention access to the Pacific Rim, is involved. There’s a reason we stole it from Mexico in the first place. But philosophically speaking I understand and sympathize with your point of view. My tongue in cheek remark was that if they’re going to secede and the history of that last venture repeats we may as well just cut to the chase and solve the real issue by reconstructing the place.

“chickenhawks.”

Agreed. I like to joke about CA, OR, and WA leaving, but that’s about it ... a joke. I also joke about trading Pittsburgh (my home) to Europe.

Many chickenhawks have never seen violence let alone the kind of violence war brings. It’s one thing to say “we’re locked and loaded”, but it’s a whole other ballgame to actually “want” that to happen. They usually have zero idea of the horrors that they will face.

No, I don’t mean illegals showing up to bleed the social welfare money, I mean literal military invasion.

Once Cali isn’t getting federal money and no longer getting a tax on things made or imported through it for the rest of the US it’s social welfare state would collapse in under a decade.

Illegals and even legals won’t be rushing there, because th freebies will be gone.

Add to the fact Cali will have to buy water and electricity from either Mexico or the US it will be even further financially strained.

I say, personally let them try. Reality will crush their liberal “paradise” faster then the soviets fell after Reagan engaged then.

If, by some miracle, the libtards got their wish then all the State of Jefferson wannabes should take advantage and break away from California.

This is sure going to be a waste of resources as it will never happen.

You wrote: “I would vote in favor of this and if successful move out of California.”

I asked: “Why would anyone want you?”

You replied: “Bless you little heart. So quick to snark without knowing anything. Have a nice day.”

So what you wrote indicates not only that you would not oppose secession, not only that you would surrender, but that you would help, you would undermine the United States, you would betray the good citizens of California and the rest of the States, contributing to the dissolution of the United States which is a goal of our enemies. And then you would move out of California.

Unless it’s a matter of “keep your enemies closer” I don’t see why anyone would want you in their country under those circumstances. They’d have to worry about you doing the same to them.

Your reply was not a response, but an avoidance of the question. If as you say I don’t know anything, enlighten me as to why anyone would want such a seemingly treacherous person.
