In a nearly unprecedented move, President-elect Donald Trump not once but twice this week met with executives of very large firms and their lobbyists whose pending merger deals will require approval by his own antitrust officials. The moves offered evidence that Trumps antitrust programand perhaps by extension all of his administrations white-collar enforcementmay be altogether darker than what we thought even a few days ago.
Antitrust was the focus of a lot of talk this campaign season, to a degree remarkable for a dusty old policy area that had played no explicit role in presidential politics for upward of 70 years. Back when it seemed like Hillary Clinton would win, some offered bubbling optimism for some sort of progressive rebirth of old-school, barn-burning antitrust enforcement, which it was hoped might correct our mounting monopoly problem. November changed all that, but there was at least some hope that Trumps populism would result in a harder than expected line on antitrust issues. Some even hoped he might be a Teddy Rooseveltstyle trustbuster. His campaign rhetoric suggested it, including some specific references to antitrust, and of all things, the Republican Party platform briefly included a strongly worded antitrust plank.

Yeah! It gets rid of the pay for play of the Clinton’s.
This was thoroughly discussed during his 1/11/17 presser. However, Russian prostitutes seemed to be more important for the news to discuss for days after.

What is the problem with Trump meeting with them?
Another hour, another attack on Trump by the corrupt media. Not even worth a mouse click . Now if one of the many corrupt MSM outlets printed a story supporting Trump, now that would be NEWS.
Anytime Slate or the NYT mentions a ‘cause for alarm,’ you know you need to put on your high water boots.
Fake Slate Snooze
Slate ia another unhinged hate site like the DU or HuffPost. Don’t give them any hits.

Read the headline, saw the source. Next.

Never mind.
Met with executives of very large firms and their lobbyists.
If it’s good enough for Obama it’s good enough for Trump.
But selling influence through Hillary’s State Dept is just fine with this “watch dogs”.
Trump met with AT&T which is planning to merge with Time-Warner, the owner of CNN. Maybe he wants them to spin off CNN.

10-4, Seruzawa. Slate is infested with neo-Nazis and commies. Slate pigs need to be dragged into the street and get their balls stomped unto the concrete.
This is so dumb, Clinton would have approved these deals, Trump is going to burn it down.
