This wasn’t a script by my reading. It was hate, pure and simple she thought she could get away with because she felt safe in doing so.
She chose poorly.
I think it is one thing to write a script and an entirely different thing for a producer to accept it and roll with it.
Not defending her per se’ but just pointing out that if she wrote a script that was intended as an “inside joke” to her producers I think there is a major disconnect here. In the end the producers decide which script to roll with and which ones are “unacceptable” not the writers who I assume are paid to come up with the most outlandish content they can. The writers are not the “conscience” of the show.
