FULL TITLE: 'Real men provide. Real women appreciate it': North Carolina residents plan protest over 'sexist' billboard paid for by a mystery organization
Women are planning this weekend to protest a North Carolina billboard with a message they say is a slam on gender equality, according to media reports.
A billboard on a highway between Winston-Salem and Greensboro reads, 'Real men provide. Real women appreciate it.' It's on Business 40, a heavily traveled commuter stretch of an offshoot of Interstate 40 that runs between the two cities.
Winston-Salem boutique owner Molly Grace said that she sees the sign's message as an attempt to silence women who want to be seen as equals to men.

Few years back there was billboard that read "Your Wife Knows". Was all it said. Caused quite a stir. Men called the company who did the billboard and wanted to know what their wife knew on them! What did "Your Wife Know" ? In an later billboard "Your wife knows where to buy a great car as 'such and such' Car dealer". It's been so long don't even remember who ran that stupid ad.
My point being...this is an and for a diamond ring or something like it. Wish these goons would just chill out.
The left just doesn’t get that just because there are exceptions they think the exceptions should always be the rule.

‘We are trying to find a date and 100 (or more) women who are self-supported, willing to stand for six hours under this billboard holding signs that stating what we do. Who is interested in being added to the Event page for details? Date will be determined shortly.
The billboard is on I-40 Westbound headed into Winston.’

I’m going to be honest. I have come to the point of full throated opposition to traditional gender roles. They don’t work in an industrialized society.
I don’t believe anyone should be expected to take care of another able bodied grown adult. I’m very much of the mind that both spouses should be pulling their own weight financially. The caretaking is for children.

Today’s women, as seen in this “protest”, bring less and less to the table than women 50 years ago. As a group they are more selfish, disloyal, less capable cooks, less capable mothers and less kind. But they can work and bring home a paycheck.
However due to the risk of divorce and ending up paying child support and losing half of what you thought you owned, I’m not sure putting up with a typical woman is worth her paycheck.
I think most men would be happy to have the same deal our grandfathers had: Which is work hard, come home to a woman who was supportive and appreciative of you, the husband.

It’s the whole problem with the sign’s message.
Men are supposed to work for a women so she can be “provided for”, like she is a 6 year old child or a dog.
The only demand placed on her is some perfunctory request to “appreciate it”.
Oh, well...ok? I’m sure she has been put in the corner there. /s

There is the quibble over the terms “expected” and “appreciated”. Being appreciated is nice. Being expected, ie obligated, is another story entirely.
It irked me in college that the girls around me did not feel the same pressure to succeed that the guys did. We knew a good career was all on our shoulders. There was no possibility that some wife could be found to provide for us while we played househusband, but the girls always saw marriage as an available economic backup plan.
The problem is that you then have to hire someone to take care of the house and someone to cook.
Unless you are planing to move into a motel and order pizza every night.
Unless you are talking someone with a $50,000 a year job in a low COLA area it is actually cheaper and less stressful to have one person stay at home to take care of all the things that are required for civilized life.
