I'm not sure what bashing you're referring to.
I watched it only because my wife was watching it. Except for one lame joke by Kimmel at the beginning, no one said a single word about Trump.
This does seem to take Fake News to an extreme limit. Can’t these morons do anything correctly?
What Trump-bashing? I watched it with my wife and no one had a single thing to say about Trump except for Kimmel's lame joke at the very beginning of the show.
“It begs the question: Why would there even be an envelope that said La La Land?”
Apparently envelope cards are written up for each film. And then the correct card is placed inside the envelope only that night, or right before the announcement. That way no one knows ahead of time except for whoever has a list of the winners.
The proud man mocks himself as he preens.
They were given an envelope that said, "Emma Stone" and underneath it said, "La La Land".
Which means that they were given a duplicate of the Best Actress envelope. They were confused why the Best Picture card inside the envelope would have Stone's name, but interpreted that to mean that La La Land won best picture.
Beatty and Dunaway didn't make the mistake. Whomever gave them the envelope made the mistake.
The card said Emma Stone, LaLa Land, not just LaLa Land.
Warren Beatty is getting all the blame, but Faye grabbed the card and said LaLa Land out loud without noticing that Emma Stone’s name was on there, meaning it was obviously the wrong card. Warren balked, didn’t know what to do, which isn’t like him. No doubt he feels lousy about it.
When you get older, sometimes traumatic events like that kick you up to another level of being old. Sad for all concerned, but I resist blaming Hollywood for it. That makes no sense. And no way was it stsged.

Sort of sorry to have missed it for this grand historic moment, but I DID have to get my sox drawer sorted out last night.
It doesn’t matter WHO was responsible. The blame will ever after go to Dunaway and Beatty. PERFECT. They have spent their lives blaming others, let them take some themselves. Too damned bad.
What if it had been a legitimate screw up and it had been reversed with La La Land actually having won it. Do you think they would take the award away from the black movie and give it to the priveleged ones? Not a chance.
The Oscars were surrendered to BLM last year
The last time I recall Hollywood making a notable picture about a black gay man it was a profile of the DC jihadist sniper.
Maybe Hollyood should be outsourced to India.
Flash....Deadline Hollywood is reporting the first TV viewer numbers, “Oscars Ceremony” was down 7% in TV viewers versus last year, and....will get worse as the day goes by!!! It appears, Meryl Streep and her low life Democrat Party, scum & vermin cohorts are killing the Academy Awards presentations!!! Well Meryl, my dear, you are in “Satan Company”....your Democrat Party, too. is killing itself off, politically, with each passing Day. POTUS, Donald J. Trump......MAGA!!! Thank, GOD!!!

Kimmel is short in the brain department. “Jimmy” has nary a clue the way the real world is!!! Someone should tell him the real world is not made up of Gays & Trans Genders. The real American world is made of folks that run the planes, trains, autos, police, firemen, first responders, military folks, blue collar workers, Mothers & Fathers, Grandpas & Grannys , Aunts & Uncles, Brothers & Sisters, oil field workers, coal miners, pipe layers, construction workers, engineers, doctors, nurses, etc, etc.!!! Cut the crap jazz, Jimmy and represent your country, the way it really is!!! I have nothing against Gays, Etc., but, they are but, a tiny segment of our population & society!!!
