Fool's gold, unless you want to sucker your fan base into buying tickets. He was a great QB, tho Cowboy fans would argue that. Way too fragile to play 16 or more games nowadays, I'm sure Jarrah tried his darnest to get him to re-do his contract so he could be kept as a backup.

He’s going to the Broncos in my opinion.

Yeah, it’s a tough call. I guess the Cowboys want to be fair to Romo, and allow him a chance to get a full-time gig. But, his track record is mixed. If he can stay healthy, I think he could help a few teams. But that is one big IF.
To: rdl6989
Sorry,Tony....Gillette Stadium is full up on starting QBs.Perhaps you'd accept a backup role?
To: carolinablonde
Agreed. And where ever he ends up, they better have a great offensive line. If not, he’ll be on the sidelines again, I’m afraid.

“Sportsbook.ag have the Houston Texans as the presumptive favor if that were to happen, at 5/8 odds. Romo is the veteran QB that fits in a Bill O’Brien offense that has made the postseason with the equivalent of duct tape and spare parts at quarterback the last two seasons. It would be a lofty $25 million hit to Houston’s salary cap if Brock Osweiler were cut before the season began, but it’s a hit that a win-now team needs.”

I heard a report yesterday that an outright release was in the works so he could then sign with the Broncos.
When healthy, he's still a very capable QB with a desire to win - which rules out the Jets.

Very true. My issues with Romo have to do with his being injured so much. He seems to be a person of character. Kaepernick is a disaster in the character department, regardless his questionable ability.

The Cowboys should eat the cost & keep Romo. Who knows what kind of sophomore season Prescott will have or be injured himself. IMO, best chance for them to break through to the SB.

Can't really blame Romo for that one. 8>)
This ine was a classic though:

Not a bad strategy. What if they release Romo, Dak gets hurt, and the team they released Romo to goes to the SB?

He’ll either go to the Texans or the Redskins, depending what they do with Kirk Cousins.

Reminds me of when Montana left SF to go to Kansas City. Worked out but not at a high level. Got to have the horses around him starting with a decent line.
Romo throws long distance rainbow balls and Houston has the end to get them. His forte though is passes to TE and crossing ends. He is nifty in pocket but not a runner so a good line is paramount. So, my guess is Houston, Denver and deadskins in that order.

Not the Raiders, the team that now plays in the coliseum, the LA Rams.
