The penguins displayed cowardice in battle and disloyalty to the Emperor Penguin, so they were required to draw lots and one in ten were put to the sword or crucified.
But in their time and place, the Penguin Legions were a force to be reckoned with. As when the local polar bears said *I reckon those penguins are mighty tasty....*
