It would be a mistake to think that in terms of simple worldly morality that they are “scum sucking dirtbags”.
That is the an opposing error to that brand of thought that thinks that “good people” go Heaven.
Humanity doesn’t necessarily have a morality, though many sure do, but a holiness problem.
With Hindus in India (relative to Christians) I see two main issues besides their civil laws against converting from your previous religion.
Firstly they share susceptability to the problems that all people who reject the Gospel may have.
But in addition to that Hinduism reinforces the caste system, and even though their laws may pretend to be egalitarian that system remains. So in addition to the whole you’re saved so now our spiritual bosses don’t want us to like you anymore thing there is the cultural aspect of the lower castes not keeping to their proper place if they leave Hinduism.
Btw, back to their civil laws: I wouldn’t be surprised one jot if nobody ever hassled those “leaving the Christian faith” the way they obviously take umbrage against someone leaving Hinduism.
Kinda tired of being persecuted.
