The Boston Red Sox have had enough of the racial slurs being thrown around Fenway Park and are beginning to take action.

According to a team press release on Wednesday, a fan has been permanently banned from Fenway Park after being caught directing a racial slur toward another person during Tuesday night’s game.

The Boston Globe reported the incident happened immediately following the national anthem, which has been performed by a Kenyan woman. The report states a Red Sox fan wearing a team hat and T-shirt uttered a racial slur to describe the woman’s rendition of the anthem.

Pro sports leagues try to keep it quiet, put pro players of all sorts have long identified Boston as the most noticeably racist city they play in.

The most outspokenly racist white guy I served with in the Navy was from Boston.

Lots of black folks who played the “knockout” game running around free as you please though.

Back in the 50s and early 60s it was not uncommon to hear racist low class whites say things like "Let's go nigger knockin' ". My response was "What'd they do to you?"

“Sticky legal area. It is a place of public access. They, apparently can not reserve the right to deny service or entry into their ballpark or deny service to others.”

That would require that the person who allegedly dropped the N-Bomb would have to go to court, get on the stand, state his name, and argue, “It is my right to call people the N Word!”

Good luck with that.

As I stated, in the South, we left them alone, and they left us alone (live and let live). Jim Crow was just the legalization of that philosophy.

In the North they HATED blacks, and mistreated them HORRIBLY (and still do). That is why the blacks almost always riot in the North and later West.

People didn’t want forced integration then or now. Equal protection under the law should never mean race-based quotas or set asides.

“Sticky legal area. It is a place of public access.”

I don’t know about Boston, but the SF Giants owners, when they left Candlestick and moved into AT&T Park went on a campaign to get rid of the mean drunks/druggies, thugs looking for a fight, hostile fans and other anti social jerks.

AT&T park has become a family safe place to go and enjoy the games for all ages.

The bleacher area has become a safe place for the rowdies still going. However, they have limits to their rowdy actions. If they exceed that, they are escorted out and can’t come back.

As I stated, in the South, we left them alone, and they left us alone (live and let live).

In 1969 I joined the Army and was ordered to Fort Knox,KY for BCT.Most of the guys in my Company were Southern boys....Tennessee,Mississippi and Texas to be precise. Most were white but a few were black. As a boy who had lived his whole life in the suburbs of Boston, and having read many reports about trouble in the South I expected serious racial trouble.I was wrong. Not a lick of trouble from the white guys *or* the black guys.

Maybe it's because we had a common enemy...the DIs!

I was eating in a little Italian Restaurant in the North End some time before the 2012. The waitress was calling back into the kitchen something about "the n*gga" and then by way of explanation told me "The boss says we've all gotta' vote for the n*gga again." Another customer (seemed like Southie Irish to me), laughed and said Obama would probably be in town for a fundraiser because "Africans are always sniffing after blood diamonds, and this f***ing ape ain't no different. But f*** the Republican guy. Don't like him anyway. F*** Republicans."

It was a small neighbor spot kind of down an alley a few streets away from the Navy Yard, but I had never been there before, and being of the 2nd generation of my family to not be from Southie I don't have even the slightest hint of "Boston charm" about me -- I was also a college freshman at the time and a slightly preppy dresser, so it would be hard to mistake me for a Boston hood rat or something. The incident rolled so many of my negative impression of Boston into one experience that I almost laughed out loud at what was an unbelievable situation, but between the "f*** Republicans" guy and wondering whether the waitress meant the owner of the restaurant or a mob boss when she said "the boss" I finished eating and left a nice tip.

That's Boston, beneath the veneer.

No, what I am saying is the North had their version of Jim Crow, it just wasn’t written into law (for the most part), and in many ways was MUCH WORSE.

We left the blacks alone, and they left us alone down in the South.

Up North, blacks were tormented, taunted, and mistreated on a daily basis, and still are.

The fact of the matter is, people self segregate naturally. It’s been 60-70 years since legalized segregation ended... and yet people STILL to this day self segregate into areas predominately with people who look and act like themselves. And churches.... wow... nothing is more segregated than churches and that is all voluntary. And it’s because no one has or is trying to fix it.

While there was certainly bigotry and discrimination in the northern states, I don’t think many blacks (or honest whites) from the era of Jim Crow would say that they were just “left alone” in the South.

Surely you have to see that the Jim Crow laws themselves (among many other things in that era) are proof that blacks were not just “left alone” in the South, no matter how incorrect it definitely is to say that the north was so much better when it came to race relations.

It's amazing how the media still tries to paint New England as this hotbed of racial tolerance. OK, if you're speaking from the cloistered halls of Harvard, but get out on the streets of Boston as you did and you saw and heard something completely different. The MSM doesn't want to expose the truth about white Democrat racism in the east. As for that ignoramus at Fenway Park you can bet they're hoping he has "ties" to the GOP in some way, but more likely he's one of those Southie white Democrats you ran into. Even in CT we knew the reputation of those folks from South Boston as being pretty racist towards blacks.

Does the ballpark receive tax payer money or subsidies of any kind? If it does then no.

Yeah, they left you alone thanks to the Jim Crow laws, the KKK, etc.
Two hundred fifty years since you lost the CW and you're still blaming the Northerners.

Hopefully our Giants will get their act together for another great season.

Regardless, as you noted, “AT&T Park is a gem in all ways. A beauty.”

Don't forget that in several Northern states, like Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and New Jersey, public schools in certain counties were segregated by law, not just custom. Delaware and Maryland, neither of which joined the Confederacy, had statewide segregation in public schools and public accommodations. The Brown vs. Board of Education ruling that declared school segregation unconstitutional, was a case out of Kansas, a Union state. The Western states did not have much in the way of legal restrictions on blacks, but had them on Asians, American Indians, and Mexicans instead.

The North and West had their own sins in respect to race and are in no position to criticize the South.
