Planned Parenthood said on Thursday it would shutter four of its 12 clinics in Iowa as a result of a measure backed by Republican Governor Terry Branstad that blocks public money for family planning services to abortion providers.
Health centers in Burlington, Keokuk and Sioux City will close on June 30 and one in Quad Cities soon after as a result of losing $2 million in funds under the new measure, said Susan Allen, a spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood of the Heartland. The four clinics served 14,676 patients in the last three years, she said, including many rural and poor women.
"It will be devastating," Allen said.

Yes those poor babies, what ever will they do? /sarc
The left is just crying don't you love it?
WINNING!
Very much so!!
Laz Add this to the daily win...by the way will be post more about clinic closing.
Where will womyn-folk go get their ultrasounds, sonograms and pre-natal care?!
Wait. PP does offer ultrasounds, sonograms and pre-natal care, doesn't it?
Is that enough to decrease the number of abortions, or just the free lunch of some employees?
Allen stop doing abortions and offer all the other services and you will get funded, stay open, and help the poor and rural women. Sounds like you are more concerned with making a political statement than helping these women typical liberal compassion.
This is clearly a PP press release dressed up as news. There was a day when reporters and their editors required reporters to present both sides of an argument in an even handed manner. And that is what is wrong with the MSM, they have forgotten journalistic ethics.
“family planning services”
Uh huh.
The four clinics served 14,676 women...
Winning!
More winning, again.
