I know Steve Martin is a bit of a liberal weenie, but I still find him funny. I contrast him with Chevy Chase, who I abhor. I guess the difference is...Steve Martin has talent and doesn’t shove his ideology into his customer’s faces.
That I know of...
I loved watching Dirty Rotten Scoundrels again! Ruprecht with his eye-patch and fork...
Also Steve Martin plays banjo which should not be held against him.
Well since there are so many liberal weenies in Hollyweird it’s hard to avoid all of them unless we simply don’t watch movies.
TV I have just about completely excluded from my life for a very long time, but I do love movies.... but I don’t go to a movie theater more than 3-4 times per year now, it’s mainly classics for me.
The most rabid Hollyweird stars I pretty much boycott, though. I won’t see anything with some of the most obnoxious left-wing stars.
I would have loved to have seen Steve Martin and Michael Caine work together in other movies, they were cast perfectly in DRS.
I can’t recall Steve Martin saying anything political.
I once saw a media type ask Steve Martin a question while he was in his car in cali during a fire season. Steve politely did not answer it. You can always tell when his is on SNL. The scripts are hilarious.
He keeps quite, love that about him. Hope he continues, when they speak out just ruins the movies for me. He was with Anne Heche at one time dated her before she went gay.
Meant to add.... Ruprecht with his eye-patch and fork... reminds me of what happens to Nancy Pelosi when she is left alone.
