The $10 was probably to pay for the cup and for the inconvenience and imposition of having to buy another. That’s pretty reasonable. That should have been the end of it in a sane world.

If it were me, I’d have refused the money with many thanks for the apology and offer. Then I’d go buy myself a new sippy cup for my kid.

I swear, there are people that _live_ to be offended these days. That type wants a payout to go with the apology on that rare, fine day. And $10 is not enough to stop their righteous fists of fury.

Some people have a chip on their shoulder for their entire life. These are the type starting Road Rages over seeing someone other driver’s raised eyebrow or annoyed expression in the rear view mirror after purposely cutting that driver off.
