Police rescue dog from hot car with their own hands

Police in Boynton Beach say “a Good Samaritan called 911 to report a pit bull” in a hot car and they know they had to do something.

They went store to store to locate the owner with no luck, so watch as a sergeant used his baton to break a window and rescue the dog.

Total time from the call to the owner showing up: 10-15 minutes, they estimate.

The owner was cited for leaving a dog unattended in vehicle and let go with the dog – after some education about the law.

What is wrong with these people? Democrats? Common sense does not exist in their mind.

Karma story I’d like to see....

Police in Boynton Beach were later called to the scene where a pit bull mauled the bejeebers out of a stupid owner who had left the dog in a hot car earlier that day.

Why estimate? Now long was it?

I don't get why some folks are itching so bad to bust out windows and "save" pets.

My wife and I were at the harbor recently...just before dark. It was in the mid-60s. A lady pulled up and left her two small dogs in her car with the windows cracked. She walked about 25 feet into a store and back out. It was no more than 3 minutes.

There were already people at her car planning on breaking the windows to get the dogs out.

When she came out, they heckled her as she drove off.

Almost identical story here a few weeks back. A local TV reporter stopped in a very Liberal part of town to run into a shop. Left his dog in the car for five minutes. A passer-by decided to play vigilante and smashed a window to remove the dog. The reporter came out of the store and confronted him. Video of the altercation ended up on YouTube. Threatened to sue the guy for vandalizing his car. By the end of the day so many dog lovers were pounding the station with negative comments he had to recant and apologize.

Really do you need to go there with your dog?

Leave them home safe sound.

If you live in the boon docks then its different.

Our dogs LOVE car rides but we would never leave them unattended.

I am waiting for someone to complain about leaving a huskey in the car when it is 30 below.

Some breeds love it cold

Bystanders don’t know how long the owner intends to be absent.

Your story happened, but it involved a camel. The owner forgot about it, and left it tied in the sweltering heat all day. When he finally remembered and turned the camel loose, it bit his head off...literally.

I agree, leave the animals at home. It really annoys me to see people with dogs walking around stores.

The one that really gets me is the overabundance of “service’ dogs. Just what kind of service?

And dogs don’t have sweat glands, they cool off by panting and if the air they are breathing in is 120 degrees or more, he or she can overheat and die pretty fast. It’s like putting a dog in an oven, it really is.

Some service dogs are for the special snowflakes. These types get panic attacks over so many things in life. They have outgrown Teddy Bears and now have service dogs.

When you get put in the old folks home, maybe some of the snowflake staff with have service dogs and you too can enjoy them.

Should be summary execution for cruelty to animals.

True. Personally I felt the guy who broke the window was a bit of a kook. But since the dog owner was a card-carrying member of the Enemedia, I have a hard time getting too worked-up about it.

I live rural, and many dogs are tied in the back of pickup trucks. Black pickup truck sits by the side of the road while driver reads her mail. Dog is dancing all over the back of the pick up truck because the BLACK bed of the pickup is so hot.

BUT-—That driver is perfectly legal.

Meanwhile. I cannot take my dog—with all the windows down & a pan with 2 gallons of water inside the station wagon for any kind of “road trip”. She is 15 ++ & has traveled with me all of her life. She sits inside the house & HOWLS when I have to leave her behind.

My dog Blue goes everywhere with me but in the Texas summer she stays home, except for a quite trips on the golf cart. No way am i taking her in the truck in June, July and August, just to damn hot. She hates it when I leave her at home, but yeah, at least she is alive when I get back.
