Possibly not. She was raised as a Jew in what she calls a “nice Jewish neighborhood” in Joisey and I doubt her Jewish father knew of his father-in-law’s dark past.

He might not have known the full extent, but he HAD TO KNOW that the father-in-law fought on the German side in the war. There’s no way around that. It’s not like he didn’t have a German accent, wasn’t “aryan”, and could claim to have been in Brazil for the whole war.
