We as a country have done an excellent job with conservation. Too good in fact.
Geese, deer, both hugely overpopulated.

There are several solutions which were offered to the parks people. They acted like troglodytes and only saw their kill solution. If you addle the eggs when they are freshly laid, they won't hatch, but the presence of the now non-viable egg will keep the parents from laying more eggs. You can get the same effect by oiling the egg in its early stages. If you trim the vegetation so that it is not so optimal for providing cover, you discourage geese from parking themselves there. You can also hire trained border collies to chase and harass the geese so that they get the message not to hang around.
