Matthew Dowd, a strategist for the Bush-Cheney 2004 presidential campaign who is now a chief political analyst at ABC News, said in a tweet that what needs to change in America is “a culture celebrating guns equating them with strength combined with a bizarre antiquated manhood.”

Matthew Dowd is a pillowbiter who knows nothing about manhood.

I love to watch a man handle a gun with competence—the way he searches for the perfect gun, the one that fits his hand perfectly, how excited he is to get home so he can take it apart to examine its mechanisms, clean it, care for it, and master it.

Yesterday I ate lunch with 3 friends of mine. At my table were four concealed weapons. One was carried by a businessman with 3 masters degrees, one was carried by a PHD in psychology, two were carried by pharmacists of which I was one. Three cops were there also eating a few tables away. In total there was a minimum of 7 guns and probably more in that small Chinese restaurant. On that day that was one of the safest places in Texas.

Funny how the gun grbers are consicuous by their silence whenever any pampered NFL players gets busted on weapons charges, which has happened quite often. And yet the gun control groups would never dare take the NFL to task over that. I suppose it would interfere with the NRA is racist narrative.

Just a little anecdote on how legal gun ownership reduces crime. Back in the mid 90’s in Chester,NY, about 60 miles NE of NYC was Camp laGuardia, a former women’s prison NYC bought and converted into a men’s shelter. As soon as they bussed these homeless guys up there there’s been a rash of burglaries, muggings, assaults, etc. In what can only be described as either cluelessness or shrewdness one of the Town Councilmen told the local cable news that he was “shocked and concerned” about the sudden increase in rifle sales in the area as well as the increase in concealed carry permits submitted to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Wouldn’t you know it the crime rate in Chester plummeted overnight and the city immediately phased out bussing their homeless there. In fact a year later NYC sold off the property for $1 million, a bargain basement price as real estate values go in that area.

There are hundreds of stories like Channon and Christophers, but all we hear about from guys like Matt Dowd are lies about thugs that got what they deserved. Locked. And. Loaded. Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Why We Need More Men With Guns, Not Less

"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles." -- Col. Jeff Cooper

Agreed but I would say we need more men and women to carry guns. How can we get more folks to take an interest in protecting their own lives and those of their loved ones instead of depending on government to do it for them? Especially, since government does it so poorly?
