On Monday, ESPN suspended SportsCenter anchor Jemele Hill for two weeks after a series of tweets critical of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stance on standing for the national anthemas well as calling for a boycott of Cowboys advertisers. The network said Hill had violated the companys social media policy.
As you might remember, ESPN seemingly went to bat for Hill last month, after she slammed President Trump on Twitter, calling him a bigot and white supremacist. That said, there were reports that the network had, at the time, attempted to replace Hill on that evenings SportsCenter broadcast, but received pushback from her co-anchor Michael Smith, among others.

Good, fire him and fire anyone else you need to until you have pro-American staff that wants to work!
Yeah... it is so unfair when companies enforce their own policies with their employees.
If a tree falls....
Who watches PC ESPN and their affirmative action Leftists?
Why not rename SportCenter to the “Nat X Show”? That’s what its become...
Good. Can his ass. Besides, ESPN needs more Asian women and Pacific Islander men.
Just remember, before anyone gets upset, THEY’RE the ones being tortured by the laws Trumps is passing and the tweets he is making :)
We’re basking in it. :)
I’d rather be reading this than listening to Rush bash Hillary for 4 years.
Identity politics destroys everything it touches.
We’re watching it destroy ESPN.
BET took over ESPN. Its finished.
True. Also, 60s relics and the people who love them have been ‘educating’ generations of students by telling them it’s still 1968 and nothing has changed.
They somehow have engendered nostalgia for upheaval, violence, etc.
Life is wonderful. I keep learning about things I never knew existed. Bump Stocks,. Harvey Weinstein. Now Michael Smith and Jemele Hill.
What are these things? Who are these people? Maybe I should be annoyed they have been brought, like unwelcomed guests, into my consciousness.
replace them both with black sportscasters from a foreign country then they can have an african-american without the baggage.
Black Privilege
.Smith sat out last nights SportsCenter broadcast as part of a mutual decision between he and the network’
education today...apparently using proper case with nouns and pronouns is not an appreciated teaching tool...
I remember as a kid shows like theirs (angry unknown black people ranting about injustice) being relegated to local channels (like channel 20 in Washington, D.C.) and broadcast at inconvenient times (10 AM Sunday morning or 11 PM Friday night). Everything fringe left has moved mainstream.
If you can’t control your employees, fire them and hire people who respect the job.
Dear Mr. Smith,
Your absence from today’s show violates your contract with us. Unless you can provide a doctor’s written excuse for your absence, please take this as notice of your two week suspension.
Regards,
YOUR Boss
Michael and Jamele, sittin’ in a tree....

ESPN has been propping up this pair, Hill & Smith, from the get-go. They used cross-program promotions, shifting of program times, and new formats, all to no avail. Without the cover of their race, and sex in Hill’s case, they would have been among the “talent” sent down the road this past spring. This is plainly evident to informed outsiders and probably painfully evident to both those still employed at ESPN and those fired there last spring.
Now it seems Michael Wilbon has thrown in with Jemele so another layer of drama has ensued. It’s all so delicious to watch ESPN twist slowly, slowly in the wind.
Will ANYONE even notice? SC6 is unwatchable.
