He had national funds at his disposal and planes and submarines to make his escape. Generalissimo Franco was his host in Spain for a short while.

No way a former SS agent admit that to the CIA. It doesn’t make sense. If so then why wasn’t Hitler captured or killed by the US?
I watched that series. Very well done and they certainly proved there were numerous Nazi settlements in S. America.
If only the CIA would stop proving conspiracy theories correct.

Fanciful nonsense. Just because some bloviating, happy to be alive, Nazi /SS lowlife made it to South America, told a tale to a CIA officer, who made a report, that became a “CIA document” does not make it true.
During the War Crimes Trials, it was common knowledge that some of the top Nazi leaders escaped to South America before the surrender. And it was commonly thought that Hitler might have been one of them.
One of the stories was that FDR, Stalin, and Churchill made an agreement to let them go if they agreed to surrender. That seemed better than wasting hundreds of thousands more lives. But of course no one wanted to admit to it publicly.
Whether Hitler escaped is a matter of guesswork. I don’t think anyone really knows for sure. Or, at least, anyone who knew is now dead, and didn’t talk.
I truly doubt it. Not only was Hitler in terrible health towards the end, but he also had a rampaging addiction to a cocktail of drugs. He likely had tertiary syphilis, and had severe headaches, dizziness and insomnia.
By 1942, he was showing signs of progressive syphilitic paralysis. He may have had Parkinson’s disease, he had severe stomach pains, eczema on his legs, and ruptured eardrums.
He took some 90 different prescriptions during the war, as well as regularly consuming methamphetamine, barbiturates, opiates, and cocaine, as well as potassium bromide and atropa belladonna.
