TOKYO As the president might say, the room was half full.
Ivanka Trump, the presidents daughter and adviser, was the much-heralded guest at a government-sponsored conference on womens empowerment in Tokyo on Friday, just two days before President Trumps scheduled arrival here on his first stop of an Asia tour.

government-sponsored conference on womens empowerment Stupid topic, especially to the can-do Japanese. Perhaps that explains the turnout. They don't do P.C. like we do.

I find her focus on getting all women in the world into the paid workforce, with the kids sent off to some sort of professional childcare not only stupid, but destructive. She’s really just Hillary with a carefully modulated voice.

This is probably a side event arranged by Japanese gov to make Ivanka look good. As a favor for Trump. I am against her tagging along her dad's state visits. We don't need another ‘empowered’ do-gooder at WH. It seems her message is always “I am different from my dad. Do not lump us together.”

Japan has women in the workplace issues. And an aging population. And the solution to both is good for neither. I have no problem with Ivanka being there, but I don’t know how much good her visit will do.

I’m sure he uses the men’s room without her all the time.

One of the things I really like about Trump is his love and support of his family.
He seems to have reined in Javanka lately.
Part of the package folks.

In the wake of her visit, I'm expecting Japan is going to have a population surge in newborns in about 9 months... if I know Japanese men at all.

Read it over at GP. I don’t have a link because several people were reporting that in comments.
Obama has been doing this since Trump was elected.

I agree. Melania is a much better role model, putting her responsibilities as mom and wife and now as First Lady above any self-gratification from career.
