Senate Republican leadership is calling for Alabama GOP candidate Roy Moore to step down as the party's nominee if new allegations of his inappropriate sexual conduct against a 14-year old girl in 1979 are true.
Both Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and National Republican Senatorial Committee chairman Sen. Cory Gardner (R-Colo.) released brief statements on Thursday, shortly after The Washington Post published the allegations.
"If these allegations are true, he must step aside," McConnell said.
Gardner's statement echoed that from McConnell.
“The allegations against Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore are deeply troubling,” he said. “If these allegations are found to be true, Roy Moore must drop out of the Alabama special Senate election.”

The allegation is from 1979. He’s on the Alabama Supreme Court and she says nothing. A month out from U.S. Senate race and she remembers?

That's fine. The truth will all be revealed after Moore is forced to step down. Sad to say, but that's unfortunately how it works in DC.
If there is no DNA evidence for Moore, that strengthens my comparison -- that the accusation against Moore is suspect, and very probably fake.
This is a really dangerous path to go down, because it means Clinton, Kennedy, etc are all 100 percent innocent too.
The only thing dangerous here is surrender monkey attitudes like yours. Moore can be sorted out later. Throwing the seat to the Dems and having Majority Leader Schumer can not be.
