When gunfire erupted Tuesday afternoon outside a Dollar General store, two men at a neighboring business jumped into action.
And now they're being called heroes by police.
As a man started firing a pump action firearm into the discount store at Union Road and Gardenville Parkway West, Christopher Kaufmann, a manager at Daryll's Car Audio across the street, called 911.
Mark Pinnavaia, the owner of Daryll's, grabbed his cellphone and keys and hopped into his Ford Focus in the parking lot. His initial intention, he said, was to maintain a good vantage point so he could be "the best witness that I could possibly be."
"But I felt that I had to do something," Pinnavaia said.

NY ping.
Good Yankees bump
In New York, we don’t need no stinking guns
I don't recommend engaging with someone with an AR-15 rifle.
I'd think that engaging someone is better with an AR-15 than without one.
The excerpt says "pump action" but the article later says "AR-15". Is there a pump action AR-15 that I've never heard of? /s
Guns?
We have the Safe Act to protect us.
Right? Right????
I’ve never heard of pump-action .223.
Plus he had clips over the NY “SAFE ACT” 7 bullet limit! Andrew Cuomo will be very angry!
that’s the grenade launcher attachment.
I’m surprised they are not being charged with attempted manslaughter with the car.
And there’s a link to an article where mom said he was just fed up cause things weren’t going well, and (you guessed it) he’s a good boy. ***GAG***
Well, you don’t go out and shoot people just cause you’re fed up. That is NOT a *good* person by any stretch of the imagination.
Pump action says shotgun to me. A shotgun at close range in a crowded store would certainly do more damage than a single shot out the barrel each trigger pull.
. I certainly don't recommend that," Zack said, "but just incredible bravery on the part of these individuals."

???????
What about the CNN Special Chainsaw Bayonet attachment?
I agree completely — The pump action versus AR-15 discrepancy in the article confuses the situation.
He fired into the store and did $6 worth of damage.
GO armed folks!!! Get your permit. Take classes on the use of your fire arm if you don’t have the experience. CARRY!!! It may save your life one of these days. If you never have to use it, at least you will have it in case you do, outside of Dollar General, Walmart, wherever. GO ARMED!!!
I listened to the local radio guys on the way in from home this morning. The guy had roughly 1000 rounds of .223 with him. This could have gone down much worse.
He dindu nuffin. He just a good kid with big dreams, who wouldn’t hurt a fly!
