I’m no Obama fan, but I visited the WH multiple times during Christmas during his 8 years and there were both trees and a 200 year old creche on display. The creche was the same antique creche that Reagan displayed in the East Room during his holiday seasons (I worked in the Reagan admin, that’s how I know).
