Fellow Freepers, I have posted before and will post again, the music coming over the Spanish-language stations in the United States is largely intolerable in its content. You need to get a fluently bilingual friend to listen to the Norteno-type "country" Mexican music and report what is heard.
Just this afternoon, driving home from work, the music coming from a station in Austin, 107.1 FM, was so bad that I wanted to shut the station down immediately. If such music were produced in the English language with the same messaage towards the Spanish-speaking community as they sing out over our airwaves, there would be an explosion of racism and discrimination charges the likes of which this nation has never seen.
One fella was singing that he was going to make his money here without visa or papers and he clearly had in mind to spend it in his beloved Mexico. He went on to sing that he would not be humiliated by Americans. Their thoughts against us are so one-sided it approaches indescribable. The mock us, demean us and talk about walking all over us in a way that even liberals would not tolerate, if they could understand what is being sung. They sing about their women basically being their chattel property. None of that would be tolerated were it to be translated into English and broadcast.
Our government is failing us in a huge way (all of the Federal agencies are participating) and no one is doing a thing about it, nor does it seem much of anyone in leadership cares. They are so worried about Roy Moore, they don't care that their house cleaners, gardeners, lawn mowers, house painters, automobile body works and painters, cooks, factory workers, truck drivers, fast food workers, etc. and ad nauseum absolutely HATE regular Americans. The enemy IS within the gates.
Well, maybe we should all just blame the British Empire for bringing/forcing their social and legal structure upon the world.
Blame them for bringing the “Natives” a “Just and Moral” system where the previous system was brutal tribalism.
“Im not saying they are not capable. I saying that they are discriminated against in their own country, Mexico.”
To go back a bit, yes. Your point here is true.
There were reasons our ancestors left Europe.
Our ancestors left Europe well before “socialism, speech codes, enforced diversity, and unchecked Islamist emigration.” that is represented today.
I’m on a Mexican Radio
On a Mexican, wo ho, radio.
You’ve lost it.
Not sure what your point is?
That the US should not have broke from England?
No.
Our history goes much deeper than what you seem to be willing to recognize.
I once told Jerry Seinfeld how great it was that he used that song in an episode of his show. He looked at me like I was crazy. True story.
I’d post some of JayZ’s venomous, misogynistic lyrics for your consideration, but I tried it once before and the post was pulled - still, Hillary had no trouble campaigning with him last year.......
Ask them to play Anna Barbara numbers. Those I can listen to all day.
“Our history goes much deeper than what you seem to be willing to recognize.”
Whatever good was once there, is gone.
And I will reiterate, our ancestors left Europe for a reason.
We are not European.
Forgive me but I thought if you wish to be an American you give up identifying with your old country.
“Forgive me but I thought if you wish to be an American you give up identifying with your old country.”
My point exactly.
Listening to AM radio music from a Hawai'i station. Featured was a five-minute Mexican "music piece", with a burro braying between verses. I don't listen any more.

Genesis - Illegal Alien (1983)
FWIW, I am not all that into Mexican music, but I am a big fan of Cuban music, Latin jazz. This is one of my favorites.

Frank Sinatra & Dean Martin - Glad that We're Italian (Live)
Shame they lower themselves and reputation with this DNC race hate fad.
Illegal Alien
Genesis
Got out of bed, wasn’t feeling too good
With my wallet and my passport, a new pair of shoes
The sun is shining so I head for the park,
With a bottle of Tequila, and a new pack of cigarettes
I got a cousin and she got a friend,
Who thought that her aunt knew a man who could help
At his apartment I knocked on the door,
He wouldn’t come out until he got paid.
Now don’t tell anybody what I wanna do
If they find out you know that they’ll never let me through.
It’s no fun being an illegal alien
It’s no fun being an illegal alien
Down at the office had to fill out the forms
A pink one, a red one, the colours you choose,
Up to the counter to see what they think
They said ‘It doesn’t count man, it ain’t written in ink’.
Don’t trust anybody least not around here, cause
It’s not fun being an illegal alien,
It’s not fun being an illegal alien,
It’s not fun being an illegal alien,
It’s not fun being an illegal alien,
An illegal alien, O.K.
Consideration for your fellow man
Wouldn’t hurt anybody, sure fits in with my plan
Over the border, there lies the promised land
So don’t tell anybody what I wanna do
If they find out you know that they’ll never let me through.
It’s no fun being an illegal alien,
It’s no fun being an illegal alien,
It’s no fun being an illegal alien,
It’s no fun being an illegal alien.
Songwriters: Anthony George Banks / Phil Collins / Mike Rutherford (gb)
