Obama made you sick, then took your health care.

Zero's FDA banned the product due to the alleged danger to your sense of smell.

What ban? I bought Zicam in October.

They were wrong, it was all the snot that blocked the sense of smell.

I work with a person who says he lost his sense of smell due to zinc usage.

I am a big fan of Colloidal Silver.

Gargling it and pouring a little up my nose seems to knock down a cold a day or two sooner than it would have without it.

Anecdotal, I know.

It works for the 2 of us.

It works best when we use it IMMEDIATELY at the first hint and following hints of an 'illness kind of tickle' in our noses.

Salt water rinse--we'd have to use a whole squeeze bottle every 2-4 hours.

The silver only takes 2-5 squirts every 8-12 hours and is much more pleasant than the saline. And the removal of the illness is much quicker--usually 1-3 days for the silver vs 3-5 days for the saline.

Housemate had a kind of 'ice cream headache' pain for 5-15 seconds when he first started using the silver in his nose but now he doesn't have that sensation--usually. Someone said it was because of the Ph difference.

pH difference? Maybe.

I make my own CS and test it with a laser.

I have no idea if I am doing it right, but the final product seems to have efficacy.

The research I’ve read indicates that the homemade CS made with the batteries & silver rods is minimally effective to no at all effective. I tried it when I was overseas and couldn’t detect much effectiveness. Congrats that you can.

I use a power supply so I can fine tune the voltage, and found medical-grade silver that is a lot cleaner and purer than regular jewelry-grade silver.

Apparently there is a big difference between .999 and .9999.

My biggest take away is that you can’t rush the process.

IIRC I set it at approx. 11 volts.

An October 2009 medical research report titled "Zicam-Induced Damage to Mouse and Human Nasal Tissue" found the original Zicam formula to have a risk of damaging the sense of smell. The criticism was not refuted by the manufacturer. Facing adverse medical evidence, law suits from users who had lost their sense of smell, and threats of regulatory action, the manufacturer revised the Zicam formula to make it less damaging and less potent.

I estimate the ppm based on the brightness of the laser as it goes through the solution.

zero ppm = laser bean not visible.

I use photos on the innwerwebs as a guide.

I used to keep Zicam around for colds. I did find it to be effective. I did not know it was “banned”. I thought they’d decided to quit making it for liability reasons because they were being sued by people who allegedly lost their olfactory sense after using it.
