Obviously this is not targeting fake news put out by the left or by muzzies.

Someone should warn Fakebook, WashingtonPoop, NYetTimes, HuffPoo, LAtteTimes, BostonGlob, CNN-Time-Lies, MSLSD, NBCrap, et al.

Someone should also alert the social justice warriors who were calling Trump a NAZI (again) for having a “prohibited words” list for the CDC (’censorship’, #NeverMindtheAPstyleGuide)

Interesting to see both the UK and Ireland making free speech against the law. How will they be defining fake news, hmmm???

Don't loan your New York Times to somebody to read - you may be committing a criminal offense!

What’s really interesting to my mind: Every single story I’ve looked at...none have a link to the bill. So that people can read what’s in the proposed legislation. Go figure.

The Ireland of my ancestors is dead.It died not too long after their government chose to bow to the Masters of Brussels.Ireland sold her soul for a few pieces of Euros.

Why do we even have anything to do with Europe any more?

It is becoming obvious that Europe is not free.

The bill proposes that the use of internet “bots” in an attempt to influence political debate could result in five years jail time and a $10,000 fine, placing the same restrictions on online political advertising in Ireland as TV, radio, and print advertisements.

I recall seeing an analysis conducting during the 2016 presidential election that found that the vast majority of the bots were spreading pro-Hillary propaganda. It is not surprising--the left has always paid activists to spread its propaganda, and bots are just another tool for that.

With the attempts to legalize birth-control abortion in Ireland, I would expect to see the number of bots skyrocket, spreading false stories about women who died from illegal abortions and promoting the narrative that a woman's natural response to getting pregnant is to want to kill the kid.

Attempts to control the promulgation of fake news sound noble in theory, but I'd be very worried about it--who decides what is fake news? If leftists are in charge, they will define fake news as being anything that does not promote the narrative, with no regard as to whether the news is actually based on facts or evidence.

So if fake news is reported and you go and tell a friend over the internet or whatever you’re the one in trouble??

Unintended consequences:

Selective enforcement.

This sounds ripe for the political group/candidate in power to use the law against an opposition group/candidate.

Who is going to be the ‘filter’ for every possible piece of news to determine whether it is fact or fake? This has the makings of a bureaucratic nightmare.
