Its not often that a court captures a debate perfectly in a sentence or two. After all, most debates are complex things that require layers of discussion.
However, the Delaware State Supreme Court just lowered the boom on restrictions that kept lawfully owned and carried firearms out of state parks. In the process, they summed up what weve been saying for years regarding firearms and gun control laws.
The Superior Court earlier upheld the ban based on the important governmental objective of keeping the public safe from the potential harm of firearms in state parks and forests, The Court did not believe the regulations violated any constitutional rights.
But that conclusion is based on the questionable notion unsupported by reference to any evidence that outlawing possession of firearms in an area makes law-abiding citizens safer because criminals will, for some reason, obey the regulations, the Supreme Court majority found.
This is it in a nutshell. Thats what we keep telling gun control zealots over and over, and they still persist in pretending that somehow gun laws will somehow keep criminals from using firearms.
It wont. We know this because of what transpires in places like New York City, where just this past weekend there was a gunfight between groups of men. No police involvement, just bad guys.
The criminals do not follow the rules, so as a result, gun laws only impact the law-abiding.

When the civil servants that we are forced to pay for have the right to bear arms and citizens do not.... That is upside down.

Same circumstance as socialism.
This time, this time, pass just one more restrictive law, and it will work (this time, this time, just need a little more OP's money, and it will work)
The decent is a wonder to behold if you are a government authoritarian.
Thanks!
decent = dissent
oops
I didn't check back just prior to posting. carry on
Dang it. Can’t blame my burned out keyboard for that one.
IMO the agenda is otherwise. When gun control law after gun control law fails, the left sees that as incrementalism towards confiscation. They mostly loathe the concepts of personal self-defense and self-reliance, so they see no need for the peasants to be armed.
A high court using basic logic and common sense in a ruling? Refreshing.
Howdy dirt
The correct word here is reversal.
Hiya, MileHi! How are you doing? I’ve moved down to Texas away from PA.
From the Delaware Constitution:
Article I Bill of Rights
§ 20. Right to keep and bear arms.
Section 20. A person has the right to keep and bear arms for the defense of self, family, home and State, and for hunting and recreational use.
Only a man with a toaster can make bread into toast.
Toast does not make toast.
Only a man with a camera can take pictures.
Pictures cannot make pictures...
Am I reading this right? The majority of the Delaware supreme court shot down gun grabbers? Wow. I thought that whole state was dark blue. Good news. But can some one explain how it happened there politically?
Good on you brother. We're good in the middle of no where, Rocky Mtn, USA.
No, dissent. The majority prevailed.
