Hey nitwits Obama the magnificent personal appearance before the Olympic committee really worked out well.
“We don’t have to fork over billions to build stupid sport centers!!”
Didn’t even make an effort to read the article, right?
That’s the point of bringing it here - we wouldn’t need to build ANYTHING.
What article? You mean that annoying block of letters and stuff under the headline? LMAO!
Trump’s Fault!!!
Gee, the Washington Post is so . . . so . . . I can’t even think of how to describe it. I do hate I, though.
Anyway, the WC will be coming here and it will be a success, financially, by fan support and general interest. Like someone said above, T-shirts, jerseys, etc., will be flying off the racks. Plus, the US team will, as hosts, not have to worry about getting eliminated by Trinidad & Tobago!
Have fun in Morocco. Send us a postcard.
You mean my complete indifference to soccer is jeopardizing ‘North America’s’ chance at hosting some soccer game? Hmmm, waddya know?
Oh, goodness. Now I will probably lie awake at night, trying to figure out why the USA has reduced in popularity and mourning. (NOT!!)
In my town soccer has been around for over a century (many Irish & Scottish immigrants); we had three starters on the 1994 US team. Soccer has been here for years, but only where certain groups were a dominant majority - not just to play it, but to support it as well. While today it seems to be a very Third World sport, when it first came here it was all white people playing and watching.
I would love to see a few matches with another countries best teams, which is something I don't get to see very often, if at all.
my only caveat would be no new venues built on the taxpayers dime...
Uh does anyone care? Pretty dumb to not want to encourage soccer in the worlds richest nation.
Good one...
In the Boston area we had lots of Irish Football back in the day-——I don’t recall soccer at all.
.
Remember when Obama went to the Olympic committee and got the games for Chicago? Oh yeah, he failed in that. I could not care less about the Olympics.
Our “National Association Football League” (in north Jersey & NYC) operated from 1895-1921; many FIFA countries didn’t even exist yet (as separate countries).
And we should consider this a loss? The less we have to do with the rest of the world, the less obligated we are. Our time is better spent revitalizing our country.
Well I guess that mean we are in high regard with Jesus. Jesus warned us the world would hate us if we loved Him, but fear not because He had overcome the world.
Morocco sounds good—what is the problem?
I love FR and its members, except when the “soccer topic” arises. I can’t understand why anyone would mock something that others love just because you have no love for it.
It’s a GAME, just like any other. If you understand it and played it you probably enjoy it. Calling it “socialist” or “globalist” is just nuts. Laughing at the players for wearing “shorts”? ...and not in every league do the players flop like fish, it’s a cultural thing. You’ll get ridiculed for it in English football.
Fyi...people that follow rugby think NFL players are pansies. Wearing pads? A helmet? Tights? Just sayin’
Baseball - snore....imo, but then I never played it or grew up around it so I’ll say no more.
There’s a saying, if you’ve nothing nice to say.....
NOTHING to do with the US being “unpopular”.
EVERYTHING to do with US law enforcement blowing the whistle on FIFA corruption and kicking a bunch of princelings out of their cushy jobs.
No doubt FIFA officials fear arrest if they set foot on our soil.
