Holocaust Survivor, 86, Must Pay Taxes on 'Ghetto Slave' Compensation, Dutch Government Says
PJ Media ^ | 12-27-2017 | Michael van der Galien

It doesn't get more insane than this: a Jewish woman, 86, has been told by the Dutch government that she will have to pay taxes on a pension she receives every month from the German government.

Now, it may sound a tad bit weird that Germany is paying a Dutch woman 140 euros every month, but the reason is that Inge Prenzlau is Jewish. During the Second World War, the Nazi occupiers forced her to work in her father's company without pay. Every day, young Inge (then 11 years old) had to walk two hours to her father's pill factory to prove to the Nazis that the family was still tied to their business so it wouldn't be confiscated. Her father couldn't work because he was extremely ill. In 1943, her slavery ended when she and her family had to go into hiding. The Nazis had decided to round up the family -- like other Jewish families -- and send them to concentration camps.

After the war, the German government felt it had to reach out to such "ghetto slaves" and provide them with compensation in the form of a modest pension. Because they truly were victims, the Germans decided not to levy taxes on that pension, so Prenzlau receives her 140 euros tax-free.

The Dutch government isn't happy with that. The Dutch equivalent of the IRS told Prenzlau that her pension is considered "income," which means it's subject to income taxes. Ridiculous, of course.

It’s delayed income from the 1940s. What were the Dutch tax rates back then?

The Dutch too busy placating Islam to deal with the sensible matters.

Not sure which is more detestable — Islam or the idiots that grovel before it.

They must be really desperate for money. Reminds me of another country that was desperate for money so they took stuff from the Jews.

There are no words to describe this injustice. But then the US taxes your Social Security, which was taxed when we paid into the fund when we were working, so our government is no better.

Up until the 1980s Social Security retirement payments were not taxed.

“Up until the 1980s Social Security retirement payments were not taxed.”

Yes, but that was a long, long time ago. I remember as a teenager, the first year I had any real income, SSA total contribution was $74, but in three years the maximum had gone to $290. Now it’s 6.2% plus 1.45% for Medicare on your first $127,500, or $9498.75. But it’s actually double that because “employers pay” an equal amount, which logic says the employee is actually paying because the employer payments are “factored in” to the employees total compensation, so it’s income that is also lost to the employee. And with all that, it’s still a broken system that is actuarily unsound.

YOUR PART OF THE TAX

The taxes called for in this law will be paid both by your employer and by you. For the next 3 years you will pay maybe 15 cents a week, maybe 25 cents a week, maybe 30 cents or more, according to what you earn. That is to say, during the next 3 years, beginning January 1, 1937, you will pay 1 cent for every dollar you earn, and at the same time your employer will pay 1 cent for every dollar you earn, up to $3,000 a year. Twenty-six million other workers and their employers will be paying at the same time.

After the first 3 year--that is to say, beginning in 1940--you will pay, and your employer will pay, 1.5 cents for each dollar you earn, up to $3,000 a year. This will be the tax for 3 years, and then, beginning in 1943, you will pay 2 cents, and so will your employer, for every dollar you earn for the next 3 years. After that, you and your employer will each pay half a cent more for 3 years, and finally, beginning in 1949, twelve years from now, you and your employer will each pay 3 cents on each dollar you earn, up to $3,000 a year.

That is the most you will ever pay.

Even today the lie exists and prospers: N-O-B-O-D-Y is *PAYING* squat. FICA and the like are TAXES for a govt Ponzi scheme.

The injustice IS SS/MediXYZ. and all other GOVT. that violate our inalienable Rights as acknowledged by the 4th/5th & 13th.

I remember hearing a similar story of unjust confiscation of his reparations years ago, except the former death camp survivor was an old Jewish man. When asked for his reaction to the ruling, he shrugged his shoulders and said, “Well, easy come, easy go.”

They say you get the government you voted for. The problem with that is that most people are looking for a free lunch today. And “some ethnic groups” think that their “needs” should be met for the entirety of their worthless lives.
