The article says that reverse discrimination is unlikely, but the reaily is, if you’re white, male, and especially middle-aged, you are absolutely discriminated against. They won’t even talk to you.
There is the “pre-screening” which is under the guise of EEOC.
Are you:
1) White
2) Male
3) Disabled
4) Veteran
5) Disabled Veteran
These are the equivalent to “Irish need not apply”.
Yup
Pretty much pissing on the Men who built America.
Now You want to wield that which we built and shun us?
Yes.
And then there are all the fake job postings put our “to comply with EEOC” when they have already chosen their candidate. The job either disappears very quickly and/or sets hoops that virtually no one could hop though (i.e. qualify for).
Saw this 10 years ago when a “boss” decided - “Hey what if we got ONE guy who could do all THREE jobs?!”
He truly thought he was brilliant with that one. Or original.
It was all I could do to bite my lip and NOT say “Anybody like that isn’t going to work for 1/3 (or less) of what they could get consulting, or more, nor put up with your drama queen fits.
I didn’t say a thing. He was announcing it to about 3 other people so I let them pat him on the back for “brilliant thinking”.
I say, why not get a guy who can do all 150+ jobs? Then we could REALLY save some money!!
“These are the equivalent to Irish need not apply.”
And over 36. That was told to me by a fried at the VA.
When a fellow I knew was finally hired in to Chrysler back in the early 90’s, he was told, in no uncertain terms “you are on the BOTTOM of the totem pole. You’re white and your male. Period”
