FULL TITLE:SCRATCH MARKS on doors, carpets caked in filth and closets 'converted into CAGES': Owners of two Texas homes where California house of horror couple lived with their children before relocating reveal the conditions of properties they left behind
The current owners of the two Texas homes where a California couple charged with torturing their 13 children once lived claim to have found scratch marks on doors, as well as closets that may have been used to keep the siblings.
David and Louise Turpin had lived in a home in Fort Worth, Texas from around 1992 to 1999 before they lost it in a foreclosure.
The owners who moved in after them claim the home was left in complete squalor.
They say they found scratch marks on the back of doors and that the carpet was covered in disgusting dirt stains and filth.

They interviewed a few of the neighbors of their current Perris home..claimed to have seen the children eating out of trash cans..said NOTHING..gee seeing kids eating out of the trash no big deal, no red flag there/sarc
I read that article. That would be a red flag to me!! I’d be calling the police/cps in a New York Minute while giving the kid some food.
I know the short answer is “They were both nuts!”,
But the articles don’t say why this couple thought it was necessary to tie or chain there children down and what did they have against proper hygiene?
Nothing really makes any sense.

Were all thirteen children were all their own? Seems unlikely. Was this another foster home nightmare?

Yeah I mean geez if I see a kid eating out of the freakin trash can I would report it..but of course these neighbors come out of the woodwork after the fact and say “I knew something bad was going on in that house”
Id like to know if these were ALL their children..a 46 year old woman with 13 kids I guess its possible she gave birth to all of them, or some could be foster kids, or some Brady Bunch situation
What happened was beyond horrible. But be wary of how there will be calls to end homeschooling or put it under very heavy state control because of this.

I have the feeling that as details come out it will curl the hair.
Not people these days! They just look the other way after saying “hey kid get out of my trash!”
NBC news was despondent this morning because the kids weren’t allowed “to use phones or social media” of any kind! They weren’t allowed to EAT YOU MORONS! They were prisoners and NBC is concerned about their social media access! Ghouls!
As a Realtor, I listed a house owned by a really creepy attorney. He had a wife who was terrified to talk and a boy and girl in their early teens. They were obviously mentally challenged and I only saw them a few times. I can sum it up by saying the wife and kids seemed scared to death. The house went into contract and the Home inspector called me, said the crawl space had human feces in it, some raggedy blankets and there were eye bolts in the concrete blocks with chain pieces on the ends. I had to be so careful of how I handled this, because I could see problems with him being a lawyer. I waited until they moved out and then I called children services anonymously and am not sure what happened.
