So states are free to decide which federal laws they want to enforce? Great. Texas should no longer allow abortions or homosexual marriage. What’s fair for the Leftist goose should be fair for the Rightist gander.
How about “federal laws” that were never actually made by congress?

Conservatives should tread lightly on the subject of Federal control over the states. We should recognize a all powerful gov’t in Washington is not necessarily a good thing. States rights
Those companies should just fire all the illegals, then this won't be an issue for them at all.

The first places to look in Calif are all the roofing companies ( Workmens comp rate is too high) & all the landscape companies. Fast food places & Cleaning service companies are also high on the lists.
A few years go, I went into a Taco Bell on Hwy 50 in Dayton, Nevada for lunch. There were 4 people there. The lady on the counter took my order, then repeated it in Spanish to all the others. I asked her if any of them speak English or understand it. She shook her head slowly—NO.
I walked out. That Taco Bell outlet is over 450 miles from the Mexican border.

Reminds me of when I was in Florida awhile back and the fast food joints mostly had Spanish-speakers. I was relieved when I walked into a joint in Key West to see a Black woman at the counter, I’d finally get an English speaker, but as soon as she opened her mouth, it was a heavy French patois, she was Haitian.

In all for states rights and limiting the power of the fed.
First this should be handled through the congress legally to let states handle their own immigration policies. Not by ignoring federal law your state helped to create nor by threatening punishment if individuals within the state wish to assist the federal government they’re part of.
Second we heard time and time again over the last 8 years but NOT this year and from no less then this same California government that immigration and immigration enforcement was wholly under the power of the federal government and, more specifically, under the power of the executive office. Now that the tables are turned it’s not only not a federal power but anybody following the law is subject to criminal penalties?!
This is the very sign of a lawless society run by a banama dictatorship.

This state treats illegals like citizens, even calls them citizens and treats people from other states like aliens. Just go to Bakersfield, Modesto, Fresno, Stockton and see what open borders will get you. It is fast becoming a s***hole state, if it isn’t already.
