I tweeted about George's birthday and included Columbia College (@Columbia) and Trinity Church (@TrinityWallSt)among the addressees. The latter responded with a message and a Strong diary-related link.
George Templeton Strong was a warden and vestryman at Trinity, and left some great color commentary of life in the parish in the 19th century! Here's one example:
