Love, Simon is a film of important milestones. Namely, its the first mainstream studio romantic comedy told from the perspective of a gay teen. But perhaps the most extraordinary thing about the Fox release is that its so ordinary. Its a classic high school tale one that minted millions for John Hughes set in the kind of anywhere suburbia that most viewers will instantly recognize. Its a fluffier kind of polemic.
Still, the historic nature of Love, Simon was front of mind at a tastemaker screening at New York Citys Landmark at 57 West on Thursday night.
Moviegoers want to see their stories represented onscreen, said Nick Robinson, who plays the title character, a well-liked teenager who is hiding the fact that hes gay. Hopefully, this is not the last. Hopefully, this is the first of many films that show a broader section of life.

It will cure cancer too and provide unlimited free energy.
This movie will promote the Homosexual lifestyle to impressive teens. As the lifespan of Homosexuals is very short compared to Mentally balanced people, this movie will condemn many to short unhappy lives.
It will destroy lives, not save them.
Homosexuality and children. This is a continuous theme of the homosexual political agenda, mainly being driven by NAMBLA.
Have seen the trailer for this garbage a bunch of times already..just plain gross, wouldn’t see it for free
If it all ever hits the fan, there will be a lot of house cleaning to do, and many scores to settle.
I was forced to watch the trailer at a cinema the other day.
This film is a evil and sinister promotion of pedophilia.
Yeah, a good dose of AIDS in the booty is always a good thing.
Better than vitamin C.
I’m sure it was unintentional but the metaphors in your post created all kinds of unpleasant mental images.
:)
Made a List
Checked it twice

And it's not that I would be insensitive to a gay teen. To a point depending. I don't like movies any more anyway. Black Panther was an all-time high box office smash for at least 2 weekends in a row.
This should be in the running for the next awards show . . . that no one watches (even fewer than watch the film).
I am long past objecting to homosexuals living together. We have a pair of them nearby and they don’t disturb or hurt anybody. They can answer for their conduct when Judgment comes, so be it. I am quite willing to live and let live.
However, there are people in our country now that are NOT willing to live and let live. I must object to the unceasing attempts (by media, Hollywood, schools, political hacks, etc.) at “normalizing” this behavior...and especially to promoting it as somehow desirable or wonderful. This is especially pernicious when directed at children.
Nor should it be “legitimated” by ‘gay marriage’ (sic) laws.
And people who parade naked and/or perform sex in the public streets ... should be arrested... regardless of whether they are normal or homo.
If moviegoers want to see their experiences depicted in movies, then how does this movie make sense for a broad audience?? Only a small percentage of people are homosexual and or have inclinations in alternative lifestyle directions.
He contradicts himself as a reason for making this movie in the first place.
If they want to depict homosexuality, then say so, say that they want to depict homosexuality. Don’t insult our intelligence and say we are telling a classic boy/girl sort of story.
The claim is utter nonsense.......
This is mark of the Beast stuff.
Dont take the mark.
And then if this movie crashes and doesn’t do well at the box office, we will be lectured that we are homophobic for not going to see it.
I still haven’t seen Brokeback Mountain and never plan to do so.
