West Virginia is test launching a mobile voting system powered by blockchain technology in its upcoming primary election on May 8th. The system will initially be available only for active-duty military registered voters and their eligible dependents in Harrison and Monongalia county.
The state is the first in the country to be testing a blockchain-backed voting system for a federal election, according to a recently released statement.

We can only count the ways how the fraud will be perpetrated using this technology. Once this gets out, the lawsuits that will start flying will be biblical. They'll be suing to have this nationwide and it's going to be so surprising that the Dem's always seem to win by a couple of hundred votes, in those really tight elections. Go figure.
Amazon or some Soros subsidiary probably built the software.
Blockchain prevents hacking and you get a way to check on a site publicly what your key voted for to verify.
When I was deployed it was next to impossible for soldiers to get basic waiver packets processed let alone voting.
The Democratic GOTV effort will love this.
I saw some comments like that. Aren’t things like CIA, DOD, and other databases supposedly hackproof?
I’m not saying it’ll happen tomorrow or next month. But, it will happen. Develop a system and somewhere there’s a backdoor to get into it. Has to be. Just a matter of who developed it and who that person wants to let in the backdoor.
Was that because of the logistics to get you the packets or certain political parties manipulating the process?
When I was deployed, Bodybuilding.com was shipping to guys in as little as 5 days. And that was for protein powder, creative and other supplements. It wasn’t the actual logistics that kept you and me, for that matter, from getting those packets, while deployed.
If we made voter fraud a capital offense, we’d have less of it.
That’s where I’m going with this. I know nothing about blockchain. Apparently used for crypto-currency stuff. Stuff that has already been hacked, stolen, or manipulated, if I’m not mistaken.

With the ease of using different IP addresses, etc and the fact that voter rolls aren’t purged, the Left will fight to the death to make sure of that, there’s no telling how much fraud can/will be perpetrated. Just bring the iPad to that nearest nursing home, special needs facility, etc, and start casting ballots. It’ll save lots of money on fuel and renting buses.
And just wait til they criticize using one device for multiple people. How dare anyone criticize the local Democratic party chair and community organizer for showing up with an iPad, for the folks that can’t afford one.
Nothing but pure voting integrity, right there.
If we would purge the voter rolls, force people to show ID, really register for it-not showing up the same day with a library card, end Motor-Voter, match voters with obituaries, we’d have less of it.
Start putting some of the folks at the precincts and clerks office’s in prison, we’d have less of it.
The capital offense stuff, would just be icing on the case.
Perhaps we should tax voter fraud to get less of it
I prefer paper ballots and no absentee ballots. (Military ballots can be verified by an officer)
Yup!!
For some reason, that has worked for a long time and now, wouldn’t you know it, not so much. With the way a Custom’s Inspection can go, with the MPs, before leaving a theater, I’ll trust that, over a iPhone app, any day of the week.
And THAT is exactly why they're doing this... Control of the vote... The government has come to the conclusion that things have just gotten WAY to important to allow the people to decide what happens in their own country... Who knows, The people might do something really stupid, like rescind the 17th. amendment..!
From now on it will be, Wow....you just barely lost..! You almost won...! It was so close... Too bad for you......
Then learn something about it.
I've been very opposed to online voting because of just what you mention. But blockchain might overcome it.
This is an interesting, innovative and well-controlled test of a promising technology.
The blockchain is an undeniably ingenious invention the brainchild of a person or group of people known by the pseudonym, Satoshi Nakamoto. But since then, it has evolved into something greater, and the main question every single person is asking is: What is Blockchain?
By allowing digital information to be distributed but not copied, blockchain technology created the backbone of a new type of internet. Originally devised for the digital currency, Bitcoin, (Buy Bitcoin) the tech community is now finding other potential uses for the technology.

West Virginia?
“Bubba...I gots to get these here votes over to da county office. Dis gonna take a whole passel of pigeons outta that there cage. We bes’ get started.”
I choose not to learn something about it. And I’ll refer to your, operative words....might overcome it.
If someone invents something like this, then they’ve already developed a way to defeat it. It’s their little insurance policy. It’s just not known, YET.
Bitcoin has already been hacked.
If you and I want integrity in voting, then it’s done by showing up, showing your ID and voting.
Remember the Democrat mantra...Vote early, Vote often.
This will be corrupted, without a doubt. I just do not understand why EVERY aspect of our lives has to evolve, or devolve, into some type of digital operation, that is advertised to make things “easier or more convenient”.
If everyone was in agreement that the obama phones were a disaster, wait till the Dem’s demand that the government buy everyone a SmartPhone. Yeah, nothing but good things will happen there.
By allowing digital information to be distributed but not copied, blockchain technology created the backbone of a new type of internet.
So, are the Blockchain developers responsible for SnapChat? Doesn’t that just allow for distribution and not copy?
All, I’m saying is the same people that develop this sh*t are the same ones that develop algorithms for FB, Google, etc. It’s the same people. Do you think that they’re going into this as completely unbiased, straight down the middle, developers of something like this?
This is a trojan horse. Nothing more.
Blockchain is, essentially, a universal ledger that operates using a global peer-to-peer network. It uses an algorithmic consensus established by verification through the network to approve entries to records, which it uses to manage transactions through a distributed database of computers. These entries keep getting added to the so-called chain of computer code. When one report is closed, it is locked, and advanced cryptography and the consensus method of transaction approval mean that the files are as impenetrable to hackers as is currently possible. Its main use has been in finance, where trust is imperative. Larry Summers, president emeritus at Harvard University, has even noted that it is overwhelmingly likely that blockchain will change finance forever. Supply chains are equally reliant on trust, and the benefits of such a system are clear.
