Former Trump adviser Roger Stones invitation to speak at a Florida GOP groups annual dinner has been rescinded after he made controversial remarks about former first lady Barbara Bush, who died earlier this week.
The Okaloosa Republican Executive Committee uninvited the controversial political strategist from its May 12 Lincoln Reagan Day Dinner. Stone was set to give the keynote address.
Its tough to lose a speaker when youre three weeks out, but this is what I felt needed to be done out of respect for Barbara Bush, committee chairman Mark Franks told local media. I thought hed be entertaining but for me this went over the line.

Good!
Not sure what he said but it probably was not warranted at this time. I have issues with a number of things Barbara said in the past decade, but she is a wonderful person and an overall class act. Jeb was an outstanding governor here (despite his current idiocy) and Barbara is due a level of respect at her death among Florida GOPers.
It takes a lot of chutzpa to claim to know the mind of the Almighty.
Stone said she was a “mean-spirited, vindictive drunk” who was going to hell. He also said she was so full of alcohol that she would burn for three days if she was cremated.
Good for Mark Franks...........there is a time for civility and making disparaging remarks following the death of an individual is beyond the pale.
There are a number of FReepers here who could learn a lesson about civility.....;........
There are a few who die who inspire immediate disdain. They are in a class of the vicious all their own.
To think that would apply to Mrs Bush is evidence of some kind of deficiency in the critic. At best, all of us are sinners saved by grace.
And I generally give Mr Stone the benefit of the doubt
Stone is just such a boor
This from the man with a libertine life style.....puhleeez
Roger Stone and infowars friends are also behind the anti-Ron Desantis ads running 24/7 in Florida. Big $$$ from Big Sugar funding them, Adam Putnam to benefit.
I used to like Roger. Not anymore. Dude sells out to highest bidder in a flash.
Have to agree on the Governor part, Jeb kept his hand out of my pocket and I can still drive and talk on a cell phone with a .45 in my glove compartment with no State income tax to boot.
Jeb was out of his mind for running for President, but megalomania is a bitch.
BB was a civilian and a great lady, no need to say anything disparaging about her at all.
Roger Stone is a mental case.
What I think is ironic is the left bashing Mrs. Bush when it wasn’t until a few years ago she came out and said she was a Dem (or so I recall). Why hasn’t that popped up for these cretins. Yeah so she was married to an R but she was her own woman who supported her husband in his endeavors. She was a wife and mother first, then dem. No one is perfect as there will always be better but lord knows there will always be worse.
“He also said she was so full of alcohol that she would burn for three days if she was cremated.”
LOL.
I apologize.
5.56mm
That describes Hillary to a “t”.
+1
I have second thoughts about anybody who buddies up with Bill Clinton, and that seems to include the entire Bush dynasty.
Talking about Barbara Bush like this is as rude as it gets. There is Biblical words against it. Maybe Roger Stone has taken on some bad habits, causing his thinking to go to pot. Does anyone know about his recent activities? Influences from bad friends—Glenn Beck?
In that case he’s a classless prick.
CC
Speaking ill of the dead is just low class
Unworthy of a gentleman
Anyone, link to where he said it?
I’m at the point where I believe none of what I read and half of what I see, particularly when coming from DEM/MSM/RINO sources. They have been flat-out lying for at least 3 decades.
