I think people understood what he said........but I like that he’s certainly nudging the black community! Worth paying attention to see who he shakes out along the way.......exposing folks is a plus!

If he did not mean that they were still talking about it, then I might have to look at his medications. But the context was probably that people were still talking about it.

I think Kanje meant that blacks who continue to talk about 400 years of slavery, and have never been a slave for even one day, are adopting a mentality, by choice, that enslaves them by providing that built in excuse for any failure or shortcoming.

The #1 priority of many black “leaders” and some blacks in general seems to be to preserve and enhance their victim status, and that is also a form of enslavement by choice.

There were slave revolts, but they were too small and too few. That is probably his point of reference; they didn’t want freedom badly enough to CHOOSE to fight for it.

.....”slavery was not Pro Choice”....

It is today, all have a choice to live in the past or move forward to now and the future. There are few if any true slaves left today from that time. It’s 2018!

I heard about this on the local Houston Channel 2 News this morning. I didn’t hear exactly what Kanye said, but the media are really reporting this breathlessly in an attempt to ridicule Kanye so that any other Pro-Trump or anti-leftist comment he makes will appear to be the utterance of a fool.

Kanye has escaped the planation and must be destroyed.

The MSM is doing the bidding of the leftwing goons and blaring these out of context headlines, always with a mention of his “mental health” in the story.

“Kanye West just said 400 years of slavery was a choice”

That’s not what he said; it’s an interpretation of what he said. Funny how that happens. In context, the “choice” seems to be whether to obsess about it, or move on.

It is pretty obvious that he meant 400 years is too long. Way too long, and the reason is choice. The only chains are self imposed.

He means “We’re still MENTALLY imprisoned today”. I understand what he’s trying to say.

Are you deaf, CNN, or just stupid?

Not to infer too much into Kanye, but the statement works on a number of levels. I think he meant if you’re still talking about “400 years” all the time, at a certain point you’re making a choice to do so. But technically there was only 250 years of slavery, so if you’re saying 400 that means the other 150 were by choice.

I don’t pay much attention to Kayne. He is first and foremost, an entertainer.

He is saying that people have chosen to think they are slaves despite being freed emasse over 150 years ago
He used this Harriet Tubman quote
‘ I freed a thousand slaves and I could have freed a thousand more
if only they knew they were slaves”

Blacks stuck in the democrat plantation of victimhood are still slaves - by choice of themselves and their masters like Clinton and yes obama who hold them down as “ victims” and use racism for political power via votes.
Strange that a quirky dude like Kanye West is speaking it. This generation’s Frederick Douglass is a somewhat nutty black rapper?

Notice the .... in the middle of the quote. That is where the LEFT MEDIA CARTEL distorted his message.

Slavery is still practiced in Africa. England and Western nations were the first to abolish slavery in the world through industrial revolution.

Sick of this bull sht. What they reproach us is that westerners affranchised themselves before the rest. Kanye is right.

Let em fight it out.
Just like Trump when he says something that can knocked out of context.
Examples will come out that will back him later on.

It is slave mentality and victim-hood status etc.
There are so many that choose this form of slavery, even so many more that fully encourage it, so that these people can be exploited.

This statement was all about context. In the context Kannya was referring too. He was not about blacks being a slave but he was referring to the idea of victimhood over slavery. his words were not will chosen and then were twisted and edited by TMZ to distort his ideas and concepts. When you watch the video of the interview you can see that they edited it so that three separate parts of the interview were put together and the context would be lost to most people viewing it. then the written media spun it so that when CNN or MSNBC interviews one of the usual suspects they can talks about how wrong and crazy Kenya is.

I think he was trying to express his inner Harriett Tubman when she supposedly said, “I freed a thousand slaves. I could have freed a thousand more if I could have convinced them they were slaves.” Lots of folks saying she didn’t say this... some saying it just appeared out of thin air in the 1990s, but they can’t prove she didn’t either.
