This house is located in a woody area outside of the city of Naples, where lots of wild animals walk around, like bears and panthers.

Keep your pets safe if you live in an area like this!

A panther is like a leopard
************************************
I’ve seen many photos of black panthers that show the leopard spots under the black hair.

Prevent celebratory gunfire? If only/you wish. It was foisted onto the public that way but in actuality is a catch all collection of gotchyas to criminalize as many gun owners as possible. Even an AD in your house can make you a felon. Recently, the good guys tried to get an exception for bird shot in pistol calibers to defend your dog from attack but no dice. I stand by the contention that it is a terrible horseshit law. Even here in Illinois we don’t have that problem.

“Defending Your Pooch” isn’t an Excuse
If a wild animal attacks, you are allowed to protect yourself or other human beings with deadly force. If you do, you must leave the animal in place and report the incident. No matter how much you think of your pet as family, the law begs to differ and specifies that a “person” must be in imminent danger.”

Didn’t know Panthers existed as far south as Naples.

There’s a Panther Preserve somewhere in that area.

I just remember a stretch of highway with signs saying “panther preserve” and maybe some saying not to get out of your car.. also high fences on either side of road.

Bingo. The Florida Panther was believed extinct until about 20 years ago, when a troubled homeless guy read about the extinction and wandered off into the Everglades, living off the land. He finally spotted his first "extinct" panther -- as he bent down to drink some water, he glanced up and across the standing water a panther was doing the same, while keeping an eye on the man.
