Unlike D’Souza, both were convicted by juries.

Are you SERIOUS? Juries are the main weapon Slip & Fall lawyers have to make $$$Millions$$$. The slip & fall lawyers pick the least intelligent people to serve on the jury panel. It is even worse with product liability litigation's. We had customers dis-engaging safety guards on our machines which were 40 years old, to slightly increase production rates, then the machine operator mashes up his hand, then they pick a gullible jury panel who have no technical background, play on the sympathy aspect and win a huge award. I have served on jury panel myself, and I would never hire most of them to flip hamburgers.

Wikipedia:

In the United States, the pardon power for federal crimes is granted to the President of the United States under Article II, Section 2 of the United States Constitution which states that the President "shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment". The U.S. Supreme Court has interpreted this language to include the power to grant pardons, conditional pardons, commutations of sentence, conditional commutations of sentence, remissions of fines and forfeitures, respites, and amnesties.

The President doesn't have to justify or explain his pardons to anyone, including the news media, pundits, editors, reporters, ex-campaign managers, lawyers, ex-perts or democrats in Congress.

If they don't like his pardons, they can run against or vote against him in November, 2020.

Other than THAT, they simply have no call in the matter.

My observation about what Trump is doing is essentially undoing political prosecutions. I know these convictions allegedly followed the law, but the law was abused by political, overzealous and unethical prosecutors. They are rarely held to account. Ted Stevens' wrongful conviction was reversed, but as far as I know the perps were never held accountable in a meaningful way.

This must be driving the Swamp insane.

How will Mueller react? Will he realize the futility of his political prosecutions or will he double down? My money is on double down.

“undoing political prosecutions”

I guess I’d call it political “persecution”.

You could not be more correct. Let their heads explode - it is like the smell of napalm early in the morning!!!
