Yay! Mitch McConnell just cancelled the August recess

Can Mitch FINALLY be getting serious about Trump’s nominees?

Or, perhaps more likely, is he just setting up time to pass AMNESTY?

I’m hoping this is for confirmation voting on Trump’s nominees.

Now let’s see if they can accomplish anything.

Sounds to me like a last ditch attempt to fumble away midterm victory.

Less time for Incumbents to Campaign, more time for challengers to be with Voters.

Chuckles the Clown was too busy demanding Terms on the N. Korean meeting to see the summer ice cream truck about to run his old ass over.

He will whine to the press in 4, 3, 2, 1 blah blah blah

Much of their “accomplishment” is usually counterproductive to a lawful, free society.

He said he would likely do this for sometime....it’s not like they didn’t know this was possible. But I’m glad he did do just that!

No recess means no recess appointment of a new AG?

Nominees. Plus the budget is due in September.
Trump has said he will veto it, without full border wall funding.
The GOP last minute crisis trick is not going to work this time.

“Due to the historic obstruction by Senate Democrats of the president’s nominees, and the goal of passing appropriations bills prior to the end of the fiscal year, the August recess has been canceled,” McConnell stated.

Well, in the November elections, the Democrats have 2x the seats to defend as the Republicans. So if they can’t get home to campaign, it doesn’t help them, especially those in the states President Trump carried so easily and with the current economic environment.

I would be it has more to do with November’s elections than anything else, but it would force the Dems to start confirming nominees and to conclude other business they have been blocking.

I look for him to stay a week or so and then send everyone home, kabuki theater at its finest.

If I were Trump I would remind McWeasal and Scumbag Schumer they better not throw together another ominibus bill in the fall and expect me to sign it again.

The Senate agreed last Thursday to hold pro forma sessions during the ‘recess’ to stop recess appointments.

Always possible but I've been holding my breath for a little too long to get excited about anything other than exhaling. Nevertheless, this does bring the Wall funding into focus after a year of tap-dancing. It also makes the Senate available for consideration of a Korea treaty, should that eventuate.
