DAVIE, Fla. - An arm was found inside an alligator that was caught in a Davie lake, sources told Local 10 News.

The body part is believed to be that of a missing woman who disappeared while walking her dogs at the Silver Lakes Rotary Nature Park.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokesman Rob Klepper said evidence from the necropsy indicates that the woman was bitten by the 12-foot, 6-inch gator.

"The FWC believes that the victim is deceased and we will continue recovery efforts on the lake with local authorities," Klepper said.

Residents who live in the area told Local 10 News that a gator is known to roam the lakes in the park. One woman said she let her 13-year-old poodle out in the backyard around Christmastime. The dog vanished.

"Do you think the alligator may have gotten it?" Local 10 News reporter Jeff Weinsier asked.

"Maybe," she said.

I bet the gator went after the dogs and the woman died trying to save them.

I do, too, but most likely people were feeding this gator.

I give you now Professor Twist
Conscientious scientist
Trustees cried: He never bungles
And sent him off
To distant jungles.

Camped out by a riverside
The professor missed his loving bride
She had (the guide informed him later)
Been eaten by an alligator
Professor Twist could not but smile
You mean (he said) a crocodile

Most things in a swamp really don’t need to be there - all the way down to the mosquitos.

“My ancestors killed every gator they found. I think they were right.”

There’s a reason our ancestors killed> every alligator, wolf, cougar, coyote, rattlesnake etc on sight. They had more common sense than now. These contemporary environmental fools are a menace.

Still limited hunting of them. They were thick as could be out at Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral AF station. And BIG too.
