I feel bad for them, but they should expect this, as it is the most active volcano in the world.

what did they think would happen?

So ... Trump’s visit will be a case of visiting the scene of the crime? Got to be his fault in some manner, at least by the views of the LEFT!

So what happens to the homeowners after this? You can rebuild after other natural disasters but that doesn’t look to be an option in this situation. I imagine this area is going to be a rocky hardened lava field for the next several hundred years at least. So do the homeowners just lose everything? Or will Hawaii buy back the property at pre-volcano values so they can relocate?

The vog from the volcano is probably making a lot of people sick, and those with breathing problems sicker.

Yeah, ok.

State of Hawaii: Active volcano, government permits property to be sold and developed in its shadow.

Predictable result.

Other states: Government owns vast swaths of land and permits no private ownership nor development, yet seizes and condemns private property at-will.

Do I care about Hawaiians and their destroyed homes????

Only to the extent that recklessness has caused me to be responsible in-part for the expense thereof with higher taxes and insurance rates.

I won’t shrink from saying this; God’s judgement often comes in measured, but definite ways. Hawaii just passed their “conversion therapy” ban.

Think of it this way: new beachfront property is being created at the going value of $100,000 per foot.
