Domino's filling potholes to avoid damage to pizza

Domino's announced it is partnering with U.S. cities to fill potholes and stamp them with the company's logo to avoid letting "bad potholes ruin good pizza."

The pizzeria chain, based in Ann Arbor, Mich., announced it is partnering with cities across the country to repair potholes and is seeking recommendations from customers for more cities.

Domino's said the "Paving for Pizza" campaign is already under way in Athens, Ga.; Bartonville, Tex.; Burbank, Calif.; and Milford, Del.

"Potholes, cracks and bumps in the road can cause irreversible damage to your pizza during the drive home from Domino's," the pizzeria said in a news release.

Photos shared by Domino's show the company's logo stamped on the former potholes, along with the message: "Oh yes we did!"

The company's website calls on customers to nominate their areas to be the next to receive pothole assistance.

It would be awfully nice if local governments would take more of an interest in this kind of thing rather than doing stuff like sending a swarm of grass Nazis hither and thither to harass our people and eat out their sustenance.

Kudos to Domino's for spotlighting it!

This is cool for Dominos.

Still prefer Pizza Hutt though since Dominos is always really late, making me wait like an hour or more sometimes, and won’t deliver after dark claiming my area has muggings.

Pizza hutt delivers on time, give me free pizza without me having to ask for it when they’re a little bit late, and they deliver after dark.

Trying to fill the potholes in Honolulu would put Dominoes into bankruptcy.

Great! We have so many dysfunctional municipal (and state) governments here in the US that they need a wake-up call. Our governments can’t even fill in the potholes and have passable streets or sidewalks because they’re all out there getting involved in racial or LGBTQRSTZANDSOMETIMESY stuff which is not at all why we have a municipal structure in the first place.

Apparently local governments are too busy banning plastic bags and plastic straws to take care of the roads, so now a pizza chain will do it for them. Every elected official in a city which has to have Dominos take care of a pothole for them should resign. Instantly.

I’d suggest they partner with Spokane, WA...but the company would likely go bankrupt.
Spokanites have a saying, “In America, they drive on the right. In Spokane, we drive on what’s left.”

Yes...it’s that bad.

So they fill in the pothole with pizzas?
Probably more long lasting then asphalt.

“Dominos” and “Good Pizza” do not belong in the same sentence.

Founder Tom Monaghan is a staunch pro-lifer and has contributed to several pro-life groups.

Dominos now has over 13,0000 stores and sells $10 billion worth of pizza per year.

The first Domino's. Monaghan said every pizza joint was named Dominicks. That's when he changed it to Domino's.

I love Dominos. I attended U of Michigan when Dominos had just a few stores. Pizza every night practically.
