Stalled because of a dust storm. What happens if the solar panels which fuel this thing are permanently covered with sand?

Hopefully there are onboard batteries that will last long enough to allow the rover to shake the sand off after the storm ends.

According to the article these dust storms do not leave for than a fine layer of dust.

Interestingly, the dust storms have been found to be beneficial because their net effect it to clean the solar panels of the dust that accumulates between storms. It’s likely this unexpected benefit is the main reason the little rover far exceeded its expected operational lifespan.
